FIGHT FOR GOOD ALL YOUR LIFE

There are 3 types of people: negative people, people with the desire to be positive, and naturally positive people. I would give everything in my life to be naturally positive. I certainly don’t have it harder than most people and I am grateful for things I do have in my life, but most things don’t seem to come easy for me. You have heard the term “worth fighting for” right? That seems to sum up my life, and my mentality. I am always fighting for better things, trying my best, and holding on to the best things that have ever happened to me.

A lot of good things in my life, physically and figuratively have died. A lot of good things still exist, but the hardest thing to loss is a good thing. Bad things slip out of our thoughts and disappear, and sometimes good things lost, never really leave. You would think with all I have going that positivism comes natural but it does not. However I try my best and positivism sinks in more and more every day.

I guess what I am trying to say is I am no better or different than anyone else, I choose to be positive as much as possible and so can you. Everything we do in life is a choice. Sometimes we make good choices, sometimes we make bad ones. If we can learn something from the bad ones we could say that it was still a positive experience. Everything I write in this blog mostly relates to things in my life, and taking positive spins off of my realities. The hardest thing of all for someone in my positive fighting position is practicing what I preach. I can shell out positive info to no end, but I still struggle sometimes to nail down what I say and apply it to my life when needed. Most of it sinks in but I do have my days were life just kicks my butt and I need someone to come and set me straight.

The fight for pure positivism in my life WILL NEVER STOP! There is a lot of good for us all out there, and it is worth it to me to keep fighting for it. Some of it will come easy and some of it you will have to fight for. Some of it will fill your heart, and some of it will break your heart. If I see something good I will go after it. If I see something bad I will destroy it. I know one thing for sure, negativity may come around once in a while but positivism will ALWAYS take over. Good things will align where they are meant to be. I have hit a few more speed bumps in my life recently and some others have returned but I think I am wired for a challenging life. To that I say BRING IT ON! If you can’t enjoy a challenge you will never fully enjoy your life.

There is still hope from our hearts

Oh man I am double posting today! This video is just right on key! Enjoy your weekend everyone.

I posted a quote from Bambi by Thumper in my blog today. There is another quote from Thumper in this awesome video. If you have 9 minutes this video is amazing, and see if you can hear the quote by Thumper! We are not born with racism. We are not born disliking gays. WE ARE NOT BORN TO HATE! We are all born with the same LOVING HEARTS! humans are forever spiraling up or down. STOP LISTENING TO YOUR HEADS AND START LISTENING TO YOUR HEARTS, and spiral within!

Famous Quote Friday

“No, silly. I’m being brave. All you got to do is be scarier than whatever’s scaring you.”
Thumper (Bambi)

Be brave. There are a lot of things in life that we second guess doing. All you need is that extra bit of confidence to step past the threshold of your challenges. When you find yourself scared to do something, or say something to someone, or be around something, just think about why. Why are you scared, what is holding you back? I encourage you to listen to those positive voices in your head, try everything, and take risks. Stand tall and scarier then everything that scares you. Listen to your heart, it is never telling you what you are scared of, it is giving you the passion to go after what is meant to be.

This post is in memory of my buddy Zeal. He was a Rex mix rabbit formally named Thumper. I only had him for a short time but the poor guy passed on a few days ago because he had an enlarged heart and it just gave out on him. It is a sad notion for someone or something to pass on because their heart was too big. Zeal is taking a trip to the carrot fields above, a world where a physically bigger heart is excepted.

Famous Quote Friday

I have decided to stick with love.
Hate is too great a burden to bear.
– Martin Luther King, Jr.

Sometimes it may seem quite difficult to stick with love when so much hate is pushed on to you. It will take an eternity to understand why that love sinks so deep, but  just accept it. For those that take the burden of hatred they stray from the path that leads to a longer, better life. You can forgive the burden of hate but to wash away love from your life, as hard as it may seem at times, is impossible. Love is on your side, except it in any form no matter how little or how much, fore it sinks deeper than hate and lasts a life time. Show no hate, and love will arise more abundantly in your life. As you already know  I am on a quest to love everything in life. The things that draw hatred or negativity naturally fall short or disappear in my life leaving only the good and the true to shine through even on the cloudiest of day.

I hope everyone has an amazing weekend.

Find Your Happy Place

I always have things lined up that I want to write about and then days or even the day before my Wednesday post I have another idea! We all have lists of cool things we want to buy or do, right? We wait and wait and put it off and maybe never get to it. In my path of many risks and changes I have decided that I need to stop talking about these things and buy or do them. Plus sometimes you just need to treat yourself.

In any case I have already bought and done  a number of things just in the past years time alone. This past Friday I bought myself a kayak. I always wanted my own! I came across some money and decided to take Nike’s advise and “Just Do It”. I bought The car mounting straps, the life vest, the paddle and the kayak all in one shot on Friday. I was going to take it out up by the Chain of Lakes area in the northern part of Illinois on Sunday but I could not stand it I had to put her in the water. Saturday afternoon that is exactly what I did! I went on the Fox River which is very close to where I live.

I got everything set up and scooted off the loading area and into the water. I paddled out into the middle of the water and that is when it hit me………It is so peaceful out here, It is so quiet, I feel really good out by myself in the middle of the river in my new kayak!(I still feel like I should name her) I just started paddling up stream and was thinking about the whole “Happy Place” concept. I think I found it! I Have found my “Happy Place”. I felt very centered out on the river in my kayak. Did not have to do anything did not have to be anywhere did not have to answer to anyone. Needless to say I went to the Chain of Lakes area the next day, scratched her up got her dirty and broke her in! Now, I have been in kayaks before in the open ocean, on rivers, in the rapids but there is a different value to getting in one of your own, it is total peace.

I urge all of you to try everything in life and find your happy places. If you find something you really like doing there really is no reason at all to stop doing it….EVER! This is just one of many places where I am most happy! I am not going to  name all of my happy places but I want to name probably the top 3, but not in any order: Kayaking, Sitting at the top of the mountains, and Chicago Fire soccer games. I know this is more of a personal story than ideas of positivism in my post this week. I think that with all of these Ideas of positivism and practicing what I preach that my life has taken on many positive adventures which I think carry as much value as the ideas of positivism themselves. We all have a choice to be positive or negative, always choose positive and see how your life evolves for the better.

Soon to come, as requested by a wonderful follower of my blog, a “You Want Me” video! you-want-me-explained

Have a great week and weekend everyone. I know what Ill be doing this weekend! 😛

Famous Quote Friday

People often say that motivation doesn’t last. Well, neither does bathing – that’s why we recommend it daily.
– Zig Ziglar

I decided to post a more humorous quote today. Sometimes people take efforts to be more positive to seriously and backlash themselves into the negative as a result. We just need to let things in our life be. The things that are meant to be will motivate us more than those things that bring us stress. It is true that motivation does not last. Ask yourself how long anything lasts, really. Nothing lasts forever. That is why we need to keep moving. We need to keep learning, we need to keep our lives active. We need to keep searching for the things that motivate us. You shower every day, you eat every day, you do a lot of things every day, why not do what keeps you motivated every day. Read, write, talk to a friend, help others, meditation; whatever keeps you motivated and happy why not keep doing it EVERYDAY?

Passionate Inspirations

A few weeks ago I went on a High Adventure trip with my Venture Scouts. We went down to West Virginia near and on the New River Gorge. This was a trip I have been on many times, we do several adrenaline activities like mountain climbing, mountain biking, zip lining, and whitewater rafting. Each activity is just as risky and exciting as the others. This was the first time I had been here sense the gates of pure positivism have opened up in my life. I discovered that the guides that bring us on these tremendous events are full of instruction, full of funny jokes, and full of stories about past thrill seekers and their life’s path. Listening to them talk about their life was very inspiring, I was really tuned into the passion they felt about the job they are doing. These men and women are living the dream.

Our climbing guide was talking about how much of an avid kayaker she was but was ready to tackle a new adventure as a climbing guide. Every day she works on the glorious cliff sides just to make it to the end of her day so she can pop her kayak in the water and take it down the New River. Further into her life story you could really feel how passionate she was about the adventurous outdoors. When summer falls short and winter begins she heads up to Colorado working the ski slopes in the mountains. She works there only for the opportunities to go snowboarding. When summer comes back here she comes back to West Virginia. There is no money in this venture it is just pure passion. She knows darn well that this kind of life style won’t last forever. When questioned about her future in adventure seeking she simply said “I want to get as much kayaking and boarding time as I can before I physically can’t anymore.”

To really feel the passion behind these guides you have to be there, you have to hear them. My explanations do no justice to the positive emotions resonating from their lips. This is what brings me to talk about passions and inspirations. We all have passions and we owe it to ourselves to discover those passions and share then with others. We all have people we look up to, people that inspire us. Those passionate about what they speak will have great attention from their audiences.  I guess what I am saying hear is seek out those that are passionate about the things they love doing. When you can feel that positive energy spilling off of them I encourage you to listen more. I encourage you to ask questions. The emotions of passion and inspiration are so intoxicating within our own lives, but merely to listen to others will just blows your mind away. When you read a good book, your are reading the written words of a passionate writer. When you see a movie that really touches you, there is a whole cast and crew of those that are passionate about what they do. When you meet a surfer and all he can talk about is waves, there is a great level of passion. When you listen to a motivational speaker, they inspire you. They don’t inspire you just because they know what to say they inspire you because they have a passion for helping others.

I am not an ace writer, I am not a fast reader, I still have nerves when speaking in front of a crowd, but nothing is going to stop me from getting better at everything I want to do, every single day. I have been criticized for my grammar all my life. I have been looked down on for my reading abilities. The times has come for me to stop saying I am a slow learner, to ignore the harsh nonconstructive criticism. If I can stand on the edge of a mountainside cliff and look down with a fear of heights, I can read, and write, and speak better than ever before. This blog and all my quotes are just the warm up. I have big ideas to share with people, and when I am scared, when I fall helpless I will climb back up time and again to step on that cliff and look down on all that I have accomplished. I am  grateful to all those who have been and will be supporting my journey. When I reach the top of one mountain it is just time to travel to another. I want to live my dream, and I am going to!

Seriously people. Find your passions, and do whatever it takes to reach them. Find those who inspire you and just listen. Love your life and live your dreams.

“You can find inspiration by just listening to those who are passionate about what they do.”

-Marc Meyer-

Famous Quote Friday

“What you get by achieving your goals is not as important as what you become by achieving your goals.”
– Henry David Thoreau

It is so important that everyone has goals. Achieving those goals is even more important. Your not really building material possessions or status, but more so you are building yourself from the inside out. Who you are is a direct reflection of what you do with your life. From that idea it is easy say to yourself “I am going to do great things, live a great life, and be a great person. Have goals in your life, hold yourself to them and when you achieve them always make more.
