Positivism In All Traditions

We all have traditions with our family, our friends and our significant others. Traditions that may be carried out during a special occasion or over a holiday. Traditions provide a positive level of comfort in our lives. Traditions give us great experiences to look forward to. Traditions strengthen the bonds we have with one another.

With that being said let me change it up! I am certain that all of us have a tradition that we do not care much for. Right? Something silly our parents or grandparents do. Something silly your spouse makes you do. Traditions are an important part of our lives and I think many of us take for granted the ones that we do not care much for. Not all traditions are positive to each individual but we must not forget who the tradition is most important to.

As humans we commonly  resist doing things that make us uncomfortable. Sometimes those uncomfortable rituals we partake in can have so much more meaning when you are involved and so hurtful when you are not. With many holidays approaching there is going to be many traditions carried out and even new ones forming. Take a moment and think about those traditions you don’t care for……Challenge yourself and approach them with a positive attitude. Don’t pay attention to how you feel but pay attention to how the person you are doing it for feels.  You are going to make them smile, you are going to make them happy. You are sending them positive vibes of acceptance instead of negative resistance. In return you can feel the joy and gratitude from them. Doing things for other people is very satisfying is it not? The feelings of happiness you receive from doing something for someone you love is unmatchable.

The next time you are faced with that traditional dish you don’t care for, EAT IT anyways. The next time that song comes on that your whole family sings, CHIME IN. The next time that traditional game comes out, PLAY IT. Embrace those traditions you don’t enjoy for the sake of those you love and the positivism will be spread through everyone.

I know a few traditions that I don’t totally care much for but this time I choose to approach them with a more positive attitude. What traditions do you have a hard time with? It is time to change that. Choose to look at them with a more positive perspective.

Thank you all so much for your loyal following. I enjoy your support, your likes, your comments, your blogs and your feedback. I hope to build traditions with this blog and I hope to keep it going for a long time. If you want, you can help me with this in 2 easy ways: Sharing this blog with others and also sharing your thoughts with me.  Enjoy the rest of your day, I will see you Friday for Famous Quote Friday!

Famous Quote Friday Lady Gaga

“Celebrate all the things you don’t like about yourself – love yourself.”
Lady Gaga

I was not a big fan of Lady Gaga, her Image, or her music from the start. But now I respect all of them. Getting to know her a little more outside of the spotlight I realize she is just being herself. Her originality is eccentric and beautiful.

Her quote speaks to me so much. We all have things we do not like about ourselves. But do we ask ourselves why? We need to improve ourselves everyday. We need to embrace our faults and love ourselves for who we are. Lady Gaga could not have said it better. Celebrate who you are and love it.

Can you think of anything you don’t particularly like about yourself? Try to love that part of you and just let everything else fall into place.

Love yourself, love your weekend and love your life.

Find Your Free Spirit

I hope that everyone knows what a free spirit is? It is all about being yourself and listening to your heart, and someone with a unique attitude or lifestyle. Always listen to your heart and positivism will flow through your life so easily. Can you imagine a world were everyone is being themselves and thinking from their heart, being a free spirit? Can you imagine a world where everyone excepts everyone else’s differences? PEACE!

Peace a free spirit and positivism start with being ourselves.

Do the things you want to do. If you want to sing out loud in the shower DO IT! If you want to go to a movie and can’t find someone to go with, go by yourself. If you want that weird t-shirt buy it and wear it as much as you want. You want to color out side the lines, play a game you love but you are no good at, try an exotic food, write a book, start a blog, or anything, DO IT! All these things are messages from your heart to your mind. What do you have to lose by listening to these messages from within and acting on them?

Embraces your personality and your looks. They are yours and no one else. Originality is beautiful. You can call yourself weird and annoying and love every bit of it! I guarantee we all do things that label us as weird or annoying to others, but that does not matter. Our heart will always tell us to do them more or to stop. Just listen to your heart. Media has such a heavy influence on our personality and looks just stop listening to it. If your friends are telling you that you need make up on or that you need to stop acting like you are, THOSE ARE NOT YOUR FRIENDS.

Being yourself you will attract two great kinds of people. People that have similar interests and people that respect your interests. When you find people with both traits those are called best friends, significant others, or siblings.

Go out and find yourself, find peace and feed your free spirit. Positivism will fill your heart then your mind and then your body. You will resonate that positivism to others and those two kinds of people will find you and you will find them. Love your life and find those that love you for it. Find your free spirit.

Winston Churchill Famous Quote Friday

“If you’re going through hell, keep going”

Winston Churchill

Winston was a British statesman, soldier, journalist, historian, author, painter and so much more. He was an inspiration during political and war times as well. Winston had issues with his speaking. He stuttered, and had a lisp, both of which he overcame with time and determination.

Winston went through many challenges in his life, as do any of us. The outcome of life’s challenges define who we are, who we want to be and who we will be in the future. If you are going through hard times in your life, if you are going through hell, you have to keep going. You have to do what it takes and you will in time get where you want to be. When all seems hopeless you need not give up, fore the ends of all your journeys are merely rewards with new more amazing ones. You will make it thru everything if you tell yourself simply that you can.

You will encounter challenges and if you do not give up you will succeed. This weekend, smile through your challenges don’t let them beat you, no matter how big or small they are. Is there anyone with unique challenges that would like to share a short story of how they overcame them?

Please share this blog with those who are going through challenges or anyone. Encourage them to just keep going! Have a great weekend and thank you in advance for sharing my blog. ( don’t forget you can utilize the links below to share)

Bathtub Meditation

I know I usually post every other Wednesday, but I have so many great things to share with all of you these days. On my quest to love everything life has to offer I have tried many things. The best part about trying new things is it arises ideas and opportunities to do more new things.

I want to draw a quick bath(path!) to what I want to talk about today. I have been exploring different worship ceremonies. The one that is speaking most to me right now has more of a spiritual essences than religious. This spiritual venture has lead me to the ideas of meditation. I explored a few option of meditation and was unsuccessful at the time. I was recently introduced to Carol Kettley Rushton thru a mutual friend. She specializes in Reiki Healing and Spiritual Guidance. She gave me my first card reading ever. This was by far an amazing and enlightening experience. It for sure sparked a new friendship with another positive individual. I told Carol about my meditation attempts and she had suggested to combine the things I love into meditation.

Carol suggested what I will just coin as bathtub meditation. I love relaxing music and I love being in the water so it seemed like a very fitting suggestion. Now I want everyone to visualize the size of their bathtub…. Now picture a 6’2″ person fitting in there! HA! needless to say I fit myself in the tub!

I will tell you what I did, you are welcome to try this or come up with a variation of your own. I made myself a play list to go at least an hour with wordless relaxing music, you can make yours as long or as short as you wish. I played it thru head phones to cancel out any other noises. I ran a very hot bath with some scented bath balls. I turned the lights off so it was completely dark. I got myself in a good position in the tub and played my music. I shut my eye and I began to sweat and imagined that every bead of sweat was a release of thought until I was thoughtless and combining myself with the flow of the music. I just relaxed until the music stopped and IT WAS AMAZING!

This bathtub meditation was one of the most amazing personal positive experiences I have ever had. The music stopped and it actually took some time to come back to reality. I was so relaxed I could barely stand (literally)! Needless to say I slept well and the days to follow were very positive and relaxing as well. If you do try this please let me know how it works out for you.

I would like to show my gratefulness for the events and suggestions and pass on Carol’s information to you. She does so many great things and I definitely plan to go back and try this Reiki Healing with her next time.

If you could do me a great favor go and like her on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/CrystalRanchReikiHealing. Her and I would be very grateful.

Some of the things I have experienced through Carol’s guidance I never believed in before. However, my experience in trying it has brought something in clear focus for me. You will never benefit from something you don’t believe in. You can only benefit from what you do believe in! We should open ourselves up to try new things all our lives, you never know what kind of positive impacts you will encounter.

I hope all of you will check our Carol’s sites. Also, I challenge all of you to show a little faith in something you are skeptical about and see if any good comes from it.

Have a great day and thank you for following me.

Alan Watts Famous Quote Friday

“Better to have a short life that is full of what you like doing, than a long life spent in a miserable way.”

Alan Watts

Alan Watts was a philosopher, writer and speaker. British born but moved to the United State in his teen years. Better known for his Eastern Philosophy, but he studied many religions and his main interests in life were personal identity and a higher consciousness.

His words are what everyone wants, a life full of things you like. This can easily be achieved with the right mind set and motivation. Sure miserable things will happen in our life but let us not focus on those things. We as humans spend a lot of time focused on the negatives in our life, the things we don’t want, when really we should be more focused on the positive things. Give more of your attention to the things you love, the things you want to do. Don’t give so much attention to the difficulties of your path to the things you want but more so feed your mind with the ideas that you are on your way. Tell your mind that you are already there. All Alan is simply saying is do what you want with your life and if you don’t like it change it now. This is your life and this is your chance to live it, so if you are miserable change it now. Fill your life with things you want in it not things you don’t.

Have a great weekend everyone.

If Money Did Not Matter

Today’s post is a journey. I hope that you all have the time to take this short journey. It will inspire you, give yourself the time to read on. Now I know some of my posts can be a bit lengthy but the way I see it if you make time to read you make time to succeed! Now who doesn’t want success? If you complete this small journey today I only ask one thing. Tell me one major thing you are working on or working toward in your life. A question to be refined at the end.

When you were a kid growing up, what did you want to be? Be an astronaut, a chef, or even the president. What did you want to do with your life? Scale the tallest mountain, meet someone famous, or even travel the world. How many of your dreams have been fulfilled? One of the main things holding us back from what we desire most is money.

let me introduce you to Alan Watts a philosopher, writer, and speaker(play video below)

What if money did not matter? Your options are limitless, you can be whatever you want to be and do whatever you want to do. Our own human nature and society has groomed us into the idea of earning a living to just simply earn a living. Very few of us go on earning a living doing what we love. Most of us continue doing what we are doing just to continue doing what we are doing. No that is not a typo think about it! Are you in a job just for the money? Do you wish you could be doing something different? Stop wishing and make it happen. This is your life.

This whole concept has been a huge part of big changes in my life and only now has it come into the light for me. I have been a professional graphic designer for over 10 years and all of the sudden I lost my passion for it. I was always looking for that better job with better pay. Aside from design my ultimate goal has always been to become a motivational speaker. I never saw money in it so it got kind of lost inside me. The struggles of life have surfaced it and brought back a beautiful dream. My life path is changing to so many wonderful things I can hardly keep up. People keep asking what my main view point will be as a motivator. I have Ideas of course but I still don’t have a solid answer.I do however have a monetarily free field of vision to take me there to find out.

None of us seem to give ourselves enough credit and that is were our dreams fall short. You have to believe in yourself and you have to believe in the path that takes you to the things you dream about. I refer you to another video of a song I posted awhile ago. I will be standing in the hall of fame and even if it is one person at a time everyone will know my name.

here is the song and post https://upwithmarc.com/?s=hall+of+fame

I can go on for hours about all the new thoughts and things in my life but everything I say and what Alan Watts says in his video is basically FOLLOW YOUR DREAMS! If you put money first in your life you are never going to achieve your goals past looking for more money. You can be who you want to be if you believe in it enough, if you are determined enough. Your life will evolve around your passions. Love your life and do what you want with it.

NOW IT IS YOUR TURN! Post a comment of one thing (or several) you would like to do if money did not matter.

The inspiration for this post was started from Upworthy where I found the video by Alan Watts. What a truly amazing site.

I have also added share buttons on the bottom of my posts. If you like what you read, please share this with your friends.

THANK YOU SO MUCH EVERYONE I am grateful for your following and support. Enjoy the rest of your week.
