Garden Of Your Mind

My friend Christie showed me this. This remix is brilliant. For those of us who grew up with Mr. Rogers, you can really appreciate this even more.

“There are so many things to learn about in this world…..did you ever grow anything in the garden of your mind….its good to be curious about many things”

Famous Quote Friday

“Never throughout history has a man who lived a life of ease left a name worth remembering.”
Theodore Roosevelt

This quote is super valuable. Life is not easy no matter what way you look at it. It is your drive to tackle challenges that is really important. You should be pushing yourself to learn something new every day, be it about yourself, your hobbies, your work, your future, anything. I can only dream to be remembered like Ted Roosevelt, but it is a dream….a challenge I am reaching for.

Famous Quote Friday

“A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort.”
-Herm Albright-

Herm Albright born in Germany, studies philosophy and music. He came to the states to become a fine artist with his ink drawings, and did photography as a hobby.

I love this quotes because I always say that I am so positive that it actually annoys some people. People with a negative attitude are easily annoyed by people with a positive attitude. This may be because they feel like they are being put on the spot, accused of a weakness or self indulgent for giving in to their negativity.

On the other hand people with a positive attitude are rarely annoyed with those that have a negative attitude. I know for me when I see a negative attitude my sensors come up to say something positive in return. As a friend I have tried to help people have a more positive attitude, but I just get burned. It is something that people need to figure out for themselves first if they want to change their attitude. I will always remain positive and see the positive in everything. My responses to anyone no matter what their attitude is, it will be positive. I set my course to be the obnoxious example of ULTRA POSITIVISM in every part of my life. People that don’t like that will weed themselves out but I always appreciate those that stick around and appreciate me for who I am because I certainly appreciate others for who they are.

Thank you very much and have a great weekend.

HALL OF FAME

Hall Of Fame – The Script feat. will.i.am.

Coming across this song was another small venture for me. As you know I am on a quest to love everything. I started listening to my least favorite music, Pop music. I really like the energy and the beats that Pop music presents. Needless to say I have been listening to a lot of Pop music to and from work, and this song came on. I was like “Ohhh Standing in the Hall of fame, that sounds awesome.”  Yeah I was talking to myself! Anyways, When I got home I found this song on YouTube with the lyrics.

Sense I found this song I have been listening to it every day! This song really speaks to me so much, and to this day it strings up some powerful emotions. Strings up memories of who I used to be, who I am now, and who I will be in the future. I will be the best, I will move a mountain, and the world is going to know my name. At 32 I have a lot of life left in me. I have never been this positive in my entire life and it still gets stronger everyday. My smile gets bigger every day. I am reaching for the top, but not by myself. I am gonna carry everyone with me that wants to go. So many people have been so helpful in my life and I am so grateful for it. When I fall, when I fail, when a hard day brings tears to my eyes, when I look to far into my past, ALL OF YOU ARE GOING TO BE THERE to help me. To help me get up, to cushion my fall, to wipe my eyes, and tell me to turn back around. I’m in uncharted waters swimming as hard as I can, I can see the shore and so many life boats along the way.
I hope you enjoy the song as much as I do! Thanks you

Famous Quote Friday

“It is better to offer no excuse than a bad one.”
-George Washington-

In my opinion, almost every excuse is a bad one. “I was late because, I don’t have enough money because, that did not get done because, I did not meet my goal because.” We all make excuses all the time, it is human nature. It does not matter if we say it out loud to someone or quietly in our thoughts, each one is just as destructive. Take ownership of your mistakes. Instead of blurting out excuses start thinking of solutions. Start answering the why behind every situation. Why are you late? If you simply did not give yourself enough time in the morning, well that is an easy one, GIVE YOURSELF MORE TIME. Why don’t you have enough money? Chances are you are living above your means, if you want more money you are going to have to work more or find the right job to get you the money you need to match your lifestyle. Why did that not get done? Super easy fix, organize what you have to do each day. Make a check list if you have too. If you are not getting everything you want done, shorten that list, reorganize or multi task.

George Washington is right, don’t offer bad excuses, you are only hurting yourself. Instead offer solutions. Offer solutions to others, and allow others to do the same for you. The more we work together the more stuff we will accomplish. The more we make excuses the less we will accomplish and the slower we move forward.

Monitor the excuses you make throughout the day and set yourself up some mini goals to eliminate those excuses. I could list through some ideas but more often than not our excuses are a garden variety of the same idea. Take action to eliminate the common excuses and see how much farther your life will take you, see how much more you will learn.

Famous Quote Friday

“I have not failed. I’ve just found 10,000 ways that won’t work.”

-Thomas Edison-

Failure is just an excuse for quieting. Don’t ever give up. When you think you found every way to fail there will be more learning experiences headed your way. When you think you have found every way to succeed I guarantee there are still more ways out there. Never stop looking, never stop learning, never give up. Perhaps you have never fully succeeded until you have found 10,000 ways to fail.

Even being in the greatest job ever right now, I have found a handful of failures. But you just have to look at it with a determined mind. “I have failed today, but I have learned my lesson for tomorrow.” -Marc Meyer-

Ok, ok, how can I not come up with my own quote on the coat tails of Thomas Edison? 😛

Check out my other blog later today I will be posting all the quotes I created in January. http://upwithmarcjaq.wordpress.com/

Famous Quote Friday!

“Take advantage of every opportunity to practice your communication skills so that when important occasions arise, you will have the gift, the style, the sharpness, the clarity, and the emotions to affect other people.” – Jim Rohn

The road to communication is a 2 way street. If you are only going one way you are not going anywhere. Practice responding when people talk to you. practice starting the conversation. You never know what valuable information you may hear when the lines of communication are open. Communication breaks any barrier of assumption. If you only assume you are only wasting your time. I would rather be disappointed with your honesty then to never know.

Jazz up dinner

Is your dinner kind plain? Jazz it up by putting crushed Doritos on top! Yum!

This is my first post from my phone. I really should have a category for posts about Doritos!!!

Quote of the day.

“There is no end to the happiness you can find in life, all you have to do is keep looking.”

-Marc Meyer-

Walked into a Step class this morning and at the end, walked out with a great life lesson: We should not always associate gossip as something negative.

In a class of about 20 I told one lady that today was my first Step class, basically sense high school. At the end of the class at least 10 women came up to me to say how well I did today. Pretty sure is was blushing with excitement. Yet another AWESOME experience. Going to the gym is such a great positive reinforcement on our lives. I certainly recommend it to anyone. If you can not afford a gym there are plenty of resources online and at the library to help you do something on your own. MAKE IT HAPPEN!

Library

We need to pay more attention to the little things in our world today. They really do help us get past the big things.

Very often lately I have been going to the library on my lunch break at work. For those of you in the area I go to the Gail Borden library in Elgin, IL. It is one of the best libraries in the area. At the library I do any number of things from searching for the next nonfiction to read, look for books on CD, look for informative videos, do research, or job search.

I asked an older man at the library how he was doing, because he said hi to me. His response was, “life is amazing” and he said it with such enthusiasm. It made me feel even better then I already did yesterday! 🙂
