Blog Archives

3 years ago today!

3 years of blogging and so many goals achieved. So many new goals and new experiences. The best part is there are more goals to come, more adventures to live, and more great people to meet! So excited to have kept up with this blog for so long. I was never a big writer before but practice makes perfect! I do not strive to be the greatest writer ever and my grammar and quick writing can show for that, but I do strive to make a positive difference in our world! My writing and Ideas can show for that!

This is where it all started: https://upwithmarc.com/2012/08/29/hello-world/

I LOVE ALL OF YOU WHO SUPPORT ME. I SEE GREAT THINGS IN OUR FUTURES!

So much gratitude,

Pick Up and Move, Florida Gratitude

From previous post.
When I got back home, it was the car ride from the airport that I realized I don’t belong in Illinois anymore. This realization and many more signs and hard work has put me in the great spot I am today. You will have to wait till next week to find out what was next for me.
Life will just exist, but in order to make it existing you need to face many challenges, fall, rise up, and move on! One chapter to the next I am living my life. Change to change I am full of gratitude the whole way.

I gratefully stayed at my sister’s place when I got home from my cruise adventure. I went on our families camping trip as a surprise and saw tons of family, but then realized it was time for change. My friend Chris and his wife Reese were up from Florida to visit and gave me the idea to move down and stay with them till I got on my feet! With my money running out, my credit cards maxing, my desire for more big change, and my friends grateful offer, I packed my car. I had a party and said good bye to Illinois. Now I was Florida bound on only the promise of an interview for a job! I had about a half dozen people worried for my drive down here, given my sleepy history, but I MADE IT!

Sunny, hot, stormy Florida was my new home. Guess what, that interview went south! I guess I was meant to be more than simply a zipline instructor. Chris and Reese work with the school district and suggested I set my efforts there. First I applied to be a substitute teacher and was lining myself up to nail this job. Then I applied to be a Para Professional for several schools. In the light of burning to the end of my money I also applied for everything even graphic design jobs. I WILL GET A JOB, that was my full time job.

I had an amazing interview at one school, the first and only interview I had down here. A few days later I got a call from my previous boss in the design business and he said the school called him and he gave me a glowing review. He also jumped the gun and said I got the job. No sooner then immediately after I hung up the phone did the Principle from my new job call me to offer me that job! YES of course I took it. The rest of this week my phone rang off the hook for interviews from other schools, and other job opportunities, I declined all of them. The funny thing is I just realized the job I have now was the only actual interview I had down here…..and I NAILED IT!

Five shout-outs for this amazing job find! I am grateful for the help of Reese, Chris, Jon, Megan, and Denise.

The job working with children has many rewards and some of my regular followers have already read about it too. I never thought I would be working with children like I am but there is far more to my experience down here. I have been kayaking on many occasions, I have visited every person I know down here, I have been to the beach so many times I lost count, I have seen so much nature has to offer here, I have seen friends from my cruise job, I have meet new people, MLS has expanded a brand new team down here the Orlando City Soccer Club, I have really strengthened my knowledge, interest and skill in spiritual energy healing, I have found a church I actually enjoy going to, and the list just keeps going. I am grateful for every little bit that I have experienced already down here and the world still has so much more to show me.

Change is challenging, but without a challenge there is no change. It’s been a scary ride the past few years but I have not stopped smiling sense the moment I got down here to Florida. I am grateful to be able to say life is amazing down here. I have made so many big changes and as long as I stick it out my heart has not lied to me once. Gratitude has been my main passenger on life’s journey and certainly there is no shortage of things to be grateful for with my life down here in Florida.

Variety Friday! (NEW BLOG CHANGES)

All new Variety Friday!

I wrote about this once before but this has to be my most favorite quote so far on my journey of change: “Anything worth doing was worth doing poorly-until I can learn to do it well.” – Zig Ziglar.

Past Post

I try so hard to keep my post short and sweet but sometimes I still amaze myself how much I could say and still have to say about Ultra Positivism. This blog is a living organism of my life and I share bits and pieces of it indirectly all the time in my posts about positivism. There is no GPS on my life, but you better be certain I will continue to leave a trail for those to follow and teach me new things. I started this blog out of heart break and just look at where I have come from that moment. I was not a writer, there was a day I was anything but positive, there was a day were life was not worth living. UP to today I built a never give up attitude, and I am surrounding it with Ultra Positivism from around the globe. I have all of you to be grateful for that. I may have uninspiring posts sometimes, my grammar may flounder in my rushed attempts to post, I may miss a week of posting here and there, I may fall to my knees in tears, but IT IS ALL WORTH IT. I may not know where I am going or where I may end up but I know for a fact it all adds to my tale of life and slowly I will pick up inspired and inspiring people along the way. I don’t know when I will become a motivational speaker or what I will even say but if just one day I can stand in front of hundreds or more, deliver life’s message and change the lives of each one I will have learned to do it well.

I enjoy Famous Quote Friday but it is time for change. There is more out there, more then I have time to share. I don’t want to leave Fridays for just quotes. I will start to include video clips, music, pictures, other blogs, or Facebook pages that inspire me. I start today with a song.

This song I have had for years and only in the last couple days did I search for the meaning of the title. I have also lost count of how many times I have listened to this song and how many times it continues to inspire me.

“Shibumi” by Amethystium
Listen to it. Give your full attention to it and nothing else. While you listen think about your life. This song is to amazing for words to describe but I did find an Urban Dictionary definition to the word “Shibumi”

A term from the Edo period in Japan refering to places, persons, or things of effortless perfection. Anything that is Shibumi is noble and fulfilling in a manner that is not shaped exclusively by analytical thought. Simply put, a state of great refinement underlying commonplace appearances.

If I had to pick an important post this one is it. This is the one I want EVERYONE to share. For the sake of you, others and myself, help me find great things in life by helping me spread my message of Positivism everywhere. I cannot pay you I cannot force you but each and every one of you I owe a debt of gratitude for helping me share this blog and this journey with the world. I want to make a name for myself and with every post and every share I can come closer to my dream.

PLEASE SHARE this post with those that you know. Those that see my blog for the first time share it with those you know as well. There are great things to come with https://upwithmarc.com/ and I look forward to inspire many and be inspired in return by each and every one of you. You can never achieve a great goal in life on your own and If there was a way I can help you I will.

Alan Watts Famous Quote Friday

“Better to have a short life that is full of what you like doing, than a long life spent in a miserable way.”

Alan Watts

Alan Watts was a philosopher, writer and speaker. British born but moved to the United State in his teen years. Better known for his Eastern Philosophy, but he studied many religions and his main interests in life were personal identity and a higher consciousness.

His words are what everyone wants, a life full of things you like. This can easily be achieved with the right mind set and motivation. Sure miserable things will happen in our life but let us not focus on those things. We as humans spend a lot of time focused on the negatives in our life, the things we don’t want, when really we should be more focused on the positive things. Give more of your attention to the things you love, the things you want to do. Don’t give so much attention to the difficulties of your path to the things you want but more so feed your mind with the ideas that you are on your way. Tell your mind that you are already there. All Alan is simply saying is do what you want with your life and if you don’t like it change it now. This is your life and this is your chance to live it, so if you are miserable change it now. Fill your life with things you want in it not things you don’t.

Have a great weekend everyone.

If Money Did Not Matter

Today’s post is a journey. I hope that you all have the time to take this short journey. It will inspire you, give yourself the time to read on. Now I know some of my posts can be a bit lengthy but the way I see it if you make time to read you make time to succeed! Now who doesn’t want success? If you complete this small journey today I only ask one thing. Tell me one major thing you are working on or working toward in your life. A question to be refined at the end.

When you were a kid growing up, what did you want to be? Be an astronaut, a chef, or even the president. What did you want to do with your life? Scale the tallest mountain, meet someone famous, or even travel the world. How many of your dreams have been fulfilled? One of the main things holding us back from what we desire most is money.

let me introduce you to Alan Watts a philosopher, writer, and speaker(play video below)

What if money did not matter? Your options are limitless, you can be whatever you want to be and do whatever you want to do. Our own human nature and society has groomed us into the idea of earning a living to just simply earn a living. Very few of us go on earning a living doing what we love. Most of us continue doing what we are doing just to continue doing what we are doing. No that is not a typo think about it! Are you in a job just for the money? Do you wish you could be doing something different? Stop wishing and make it happen. This is your life.

This whole concept has been a huge part of big changes in my life and only now has it come into the light for me. I have been a professional graphic designer for over 10 years and all of the sudden I lost my passion for it. I was always looking for that better job with better pay. Aside from design my ultimate goal has always been to become a motivational speaker. I never saw money in it so it got kind of lost inside me. The struggles of life have surfaced it and brought back a beautiful dream. My life path is changing to so many wonderful things I can hardly keep up. People keep asking what my main view point will be as a motivator. I have Ideas of course but I still don’t have a solid answer.I do however have a monetarily free field of vision to take me there to find out.

None of us seem to give ourselves enough credit and that is were our dreams fall short. You have to believe in yourself and you have to believe in the path that takes you to the things you dream about. I refer you to another video of a song I posted awhile ago. I will be standing in the hall of fame and even if it is one person at a time everyone will know my name.

here is the song and post https://upwithmarc.com/?s=hall+of+fame

I can go on for hours about all the new thoughts and things in my life but everything I say and what Alan Watts says in his video is basically FOLLOW YOUR DREAMS! If you put money first in your life you are never going to achieve your goals past looking for more money. You can be who you want to be if you believe in it enough, if you are determined enough. Your life will evolve around your passions. Love your life and do what you want with it.

NOW IT IS YOUR TURN! Post a comment of one thing (or several) you would like to do if money did not matter.

The inspiration for this post was started from Upworthy where I found the video by Alan Watts. What a truly amazing site.

I have also added share buttons on the bottom of my posts. If you like what you read, please share this with your friends.

THANK YOU SO MUCH EVERYONE I am grateful for your following and support. Enjoy the rest of your week.
