3 years of blogging and so many goals achieved. So many new goals and new experiences. The best part is there are more goals to come, more adventures to live, and more great people to meet! So excited to have kept up with this blog for so long. I was never a big writer before but practice makes perfect! I do not strive to be the greatest writer ever and my grammar and quick writing can show for that, but I do strive to make a positive difference in our world! My writing and Ideas can show for that!
I wrote about this once before but this has to be my most favorite quote so far on my journey of change: “Anything worth doing was worth doing poorly-until I can learn to do it well.” – Zig Ziglar.
I try so hard to keep my post short and sweet but sometimes I still amaze myself how much I could say and still have to say about Ultra Positivism. This blog is a living organism of my life and I share bits and pieces of it indirectly all the time in my posts about positivism. There is no GPS on my life, but you better be certain I will continue to leave a trail for those to follow and teach me new things. I started this blog out of heart break and just look at where I have come from that moment. I was not a writer, there was a day I was anything but positive, there was a day were life was not worth living. UP to today I built a never give up attitude, and I am surrounding it with Ultra Positivism from around the globe. I have all of you to be grateful for that. I may have uninspiring posts sometimes, my grammar may flounder in my rushed attempts to post, I may miss a week of posting here and there, I may fall to my knees in tears, but IT IS ALL WORTH IT. I may not know where I am going or where I may end up but I know for a fact it all adds to my tale of life and slowly I will pick up inspired and inspiring people along the way. I don’t know when I will become a motivational speaker or what I will even say but if just one day I can stand in front of hundreds or more, deliver life’s message and change the lives of each one I will have learned to do it well.
I enjoy Famous Quote Friday but it is time for change. There is more out there, more then I have time to share. I don’t want to leave Fridays for just quotes. I will start to include video clips, music, pictures, other blogs, or Facebook pages that inspire me. I start today with a song.
This song I have had for years and only in the last couple days did I search for the meaning of the title. I have also lost count of how many times I have listened to this song and how many times it continues to inspire me.
“Shibumi” by Amethystium
Listen to it. Give your full attention to it and nothing else. While you listen think about your life. This song is to amazing for words to describe but I did find an Urban Dictionary definition to the word “Shibumi”
A term from the Edo period in Japan refering to places, persons, or things of effortless perfection. Anything that is Shibumi is noble and fulfilling in a manner that is not shaped exclusively by analytical thought. Simply put, a state of great refinement underlying commonplace appearances. http://www.urbandictionary.com/
If I had to pick an important post this one is it. This is the one I want EVERYONE to share. For the sake of you, others and myself, help me find great things in life by helping me spread my message of Positivism everywhere. I cannot pay you I cannot force you but each and every one of you I owe a debt of gratitude for helping me share this blog and this journey with the world. I want to make a name for myself and with every post and every share I can come closer to my dream.
PLEASE SHARE this post with those that you know. Those that see my blog for the first time share it with those you know as well. There are great things to come with https://upwithmarc.com/ and I look forward to inspire many and be inspired in return by each and every one of you. You can never achieve a great goal in life on your own and If there was a way I can help you I will.

Not a very positive title I know but it was hard to title this one. I know right off the bat that negativity sells. Negativity gets way more attention in our society than anything positive. That human instinct that draws us to be more interested in negativity is probably drawing more of you to this post than normal, just by the title. No big deal it is natural. But those that came here to read a negative story might be disappointed. I will touch on a few negative things, but it is more so making you aware of things so you can choose to be positive.
I have sworn off TV/radio news, and most of TV sitcoms and reality shows, it is just way to negative and depressing for me. I am certainly not telling you to, but I can tell you why I have. I know you can argue that there are good shows and good news stories. It would not be an argument you would be right. However, the amount of people dying, the crime, and immature and pointless stories you have to go through to get to anything positive or inspirational is just gross. Yes, these things I want to avoid are part of everyday life, but you can turn the table around and realize how many good things that are out there also and part of your everyday life as well. I don’t have facts and numbers to throw at you but it is a fact that there are WAY MORE good people and positive things happening in our world then bad. It is all about what we choose to pay attention too.
One compliment for Facebook, I am following any good page I can find. I jump on my Facebook and it is one positive story after another all the time. I fully enjoy any positive posts I see from my friends as well. I just wish those that choose to complain and grab negative attention would try posting more positive things once in a while. Sure you’re not going to get dozens of likes and comments for sympathy or debate but to me it is not worth it. Whenever I post I always hope for the like approval or even a nice comment but sometimes I don’t get anything. Even if it is just at a glance I know you are reading my comments and my blog, even if you don’t acknowledge it. I am grateful for your following. I have grown to be grateful for the opportunity to share positive things with people all over the world. There are many that don’t even have the freedom to try to spread positivism.
The reason I like to remain positive, nonreligious and nonpolitical in my blog is simply for the positive challenge. I know if I start talking about the negative things in my life, sadly this blog will be more interesting to more people. If I start sharing my religious views my followings would be out the roof, there is a lot of positivism to be shared in the name of religion. If I shared my political views I am sure I can easily gather a large following to continually debate. NO I just want plain positivism to ourselves and to others. We can always use more positivism but really we need more people in this world to follow a life of positivism. I know we are all not positive robots. Things in our life will totally suck sometimes but we are going to get past them. The sun will rise again on a new day. There are endless opportunities out there for all of us. There are endless ways we can be positive and share positivism.
To my point of dying kindness is what it seems is happening all around us, or perhaps just me. One of the reasons I want to travel is I have a strong need to experience other people and other cultures. Just with my visit to Texas last weekend I realize how much nicer people are their then here in Chicago, in general of course. I got an “excuse me sir” just coming out of a public bathroom as I almost walked into him. I was uncomfortable at first because I was not used to that but I realize later how polite that was and pretty much just wanted to find the guy and thank him for his kindness. The idea of dying kindness seems to be all around me. Returning people’s calls or messages all the time does not seem to matter to people anymore. Compliments without acknowledgement. Being nice to people is labeled as being too nice now. SERIOUSLY why do we live in a society were being too nice is a problem? To many kind words freak people out these days. I’m nervous shelling out compliments to new girls, they either seem to be weirded out, or think I want to get in their pants. When I give a guy a compliment it is even more uncomfortable. Communication is dying, everyone seems to just assume now. No one seems to take inititive to make the first move for what they are interested in, they wait for others. Even when you say or do something nice it goes unacknowledged. The nervousness to giving compliments I would like to lose. I used to compliment people all time but it made them uncomfortable. I will just let people take it however they wish now. If it comes off as weird or unwanted flirting too bad! I never ever have bad intentions toward anyone. A word we need to use more often is love. If you love someone or something SAY IT! I don’t care if it is the chocolate covered gummy bears at or your favorite candy shop or a first date or your family pet. Profess that love. In a world were kindness seems to be dying, love is a strength that will keep it alive. Don’t let communication die, don’t let kindness die, don’t let love for one another die. Think Positive share positive and worry not of your consequences.
I LOVE ALL OF YOU! Be kind and share my blog with your friends. You have already complimented me by reading, why not take it one step farther and click and share this kindness with those that you love.
“Laughter is the language of the soul.” – Pablo Neruda
Laughter is not only the language of the soul it is also a universal expression for positive amusement. When you laugh everyone knows what that means. Your soul can be regarded as a separate entity to your body, derived of thoughts, feelings and actions. Your soul is a positive part of your body. No one has to learn to laugh it is something we are born with. The reason Pablo is saying, laughter is the language of the soul, is because we all have a positive soul. We all have a soul that is strengthened by laughter. We all have the positivism in us, it is the life we live and the choices we make that bring that positivism out.
Today, what positive things are you thinking about. What are the positive things you are doing today?
Laughter is the positive cure for almost anything. Make sure you have laughter in your life today and every day.
Intellectual: Developed or guided by the knowledge rather than by personal experience.
I don’t want to live with my nose in a big text book drumming up tons of facts. I love reading for sure so don’t get me wrong, but I want to live outside in the real world experiencing and experimenting with success and failure. I don’t need a masters degree to prove anything. I don’t need to be monetarily rich. I certainly don’t want to brain wash you telling you what to do with your life.
I want to share my positive view points with those willing to read or listen. I want to hear everyone’s opinion too! I want to help everyone I can in any way I can. I have lost so much in my life but gained so much more. The success I seek in life now will never just fall on my lap, I will have to work very hard for it. There will be many downs on my path but when I am going up I am like a positive firecracker.
One thing about me that some of you may know. I have a hard time to this day accepting compliments. Or thinking of myself. That being said I want to take this moment to be a little full of myself in asking something from all of you. Now some of you may not know me in person, some of you I have just met, some of you I have known for many years, some of you are very good friends and some of you have known me for 32 years. I want everyone willing, either now or in the near future to leave a comment on this blog post. Not just any comment, a comment about me. Think back as far or close as you want. Think of a time I have helped you with something important, think of a time I have inspired you, hey maybe even a time I changed your life. In as many words as you want tell me about it. For those that don’t know me very well yet, maybe think of a blog or quote I posted that particularly inspired you and tell me about it. If you don’t have anything to say that is alright, stick around because the future holds many more positive things in it and we are going to live up to all of them together. It is really important to me that you comment. If it is something you do not wish to share in public you can always email me instead (upwithmarc@yahoo.com). I am not in any contest or looking for an ego boost I merely want to gather enough positivism to carry me through the next 100 posts.
I am grateful for all of you who share this blogging journey with me and hope you stick around so all of us together can keep making this a bigger positive experience! Have a great week and I look forward to hearing from you.
“Being yourself is all it takes. If you want to impress someone, don’t be someone else just be yourself.” Selena Gomez
Everyone knows Selena Gomez. Started out on “Barney and Friends” and now she is a famous actress, singer and fashion designer. She is 21 now and I wish I could date when she was quoted. Her words are so undemanding but very profound at the same time. Receiving what you want, getting where you want to be and being with who you want can all certainly fall under simply being yourself. What better person to be though? Originality is so important. For me I don’t want to be defined as part of a stereotyped group of people, I want to be defined as Marc Meyer! In this case I would much like http://www.upwithmarc.com to be seeping through every way possible of who I am! Positivism is taking over my life and I just want to share it with others. Some can’t handle the ultra positivism but those that can continue to motivate me again and again.
.
Who out there are we trying to impress and for what reason? If you are impressing people by doing something that is not in your nature you realize you have to keep doing that? Are you willing to keep doing something that you don’t feel 100% about just for the sake of your image? You want people to enjoy who you are when you are not even trying. Build up your friends, followers and audience with your own thoughts, actions and interests. This concept of being yourself is so simple and so easy, I am not sure why people choose to follow the paths of others.
.
Be yourself today and every day. Make a lasting impression on the world with your life! Stand out by being original not someone we already know. LOVE YOUR LIFE, treat it as such!

This is my 99th post, I am so excited for the post I have lined up for Wednesday, my 100th post! be sure to check it out.
