Fight For Good

When everything in your life seems to have died there is still plenty of good worth fighting for. Sometimes it is a challenge to stay positive, but I say it is worth that challenge.

If you liked what you heard please feel free to look around my blog with the search feature for subjects of positivism that may interest you.

Goals and Adventures.

This month I stuck to my reading goals and towards the end I was doing more than 20 pages a day! I found the beginning and end of 3 great books and I have started another one today to keep it going.

“Black Hole Focus” by Isaiah Hankel

“Everything Happens For A Reason” by Mira Kirshenbaum

“The Carpenter” by Jon Gordon

“More Notes from the Universe” by Mike Dooley (just a book of quotes but still great)

I have learned so much from reading but it seems that my education went far beyond the written words. I was inspired in many ways but most importantly to finally narrow down what I want to do as a motivational speaker. I want to speak to children and teens about a more positive lifestyle and the ever-growing subject of bullying. I have full confidence that I will get where I want to be and I am ready for the challenges that will arise on my way there.

Over the summer I hope to have time to start writing presentations and presenting them to the school district I work for right now. One small step of many.

I do have some sad news for those that do gratefully follow me regularly. June through August I have a lot of adventures going on in my life and my time to write from the heart will not be as wide open as it usually is. One of the major things I am doing is working on a cruise ship in Alaska. I have always wanted to go there and now is my chance. I will be working a lot and when I am not working naturally I will be enjoying the wonders of the Pacific Ocean, Canada and Alaska.

I will be posting when I can, Maybe sharing other people’s things on Facebook and stories here and there as well. I hope I do not lose many of you in my absence but I WILL BE BACK. Every day is an adventure I am just going to have a few months of them in a row. I will return with lots of inspiration and tons of pictures I am sure. If you wish to friend me on Facebook feel free to, to see my pictures.

Have a great weekend and remember I am not gone for good and I will post when I can. Thank you so much for all of your support on this journey.

Meme Monday (Greater Things)

greater things

This is something we need to tell ourselves every time we get up in the morning or every time we are challenged or fail! I fully believe I am meant for greater things and I am closer to discovering that as each new day comes alive for me.

I am very proud of myself. I finished “Black Hole Focus by Isaiah Hankel PhD, I will tell you more about it Wednesday. It was a 230 page book that I finished in 10 days. I am not so much proud of the amount of pages I have read but more so that I am building the routine to read everyday just like last month I was building the routine to be more active and eat better. This month I will learn more and more the more I read. I am only in my 2nd week and I feel completely inspired off of just one book! Reading fills the mind and warms the heart. Everyone should read something regularly. By reading you can also discover that you really are meant for greater things in life!

Try (Variety Friday)

the

This April Health month started with the idea to try a new challenge. A challenge to eat better, be more active and loss weight. 2 weeks in I can proudly say I am accomplishing these challenges. My move down here started with the idea to start a new career with something completely different. I accomplished that, by now working in an elementary school! I wanted to try and find work over the summer and boy did I ever accomplish that! I will be working on a cruise ship again but this time up in Alaska for the summer. If I never would have tried working on a cruise ship in the first place, I would have never accomplished working on the cruise ship a 2nd time. Its a once in a life time opportunity for me and now I get to do it again!

Great things can happen in your life all you have to do is TRY and you can ACCOMPLISH anything. Have a great weekend everyone.

I’m no fool this April

March has come to a close and what a month of Gratitude it was. I am so grateful for the results I had on my Facebook, my Blog, and also with myself. I really like the idea of the month long thing and I decided to do another one this month for all of April!

April will be all about positivism in Health. All month I will be talking about and sharing many Ideas on the subject of health for a more UP (ultra positive) life style. I have set up a few goals for myself that I will list below. Perhaps if you would like you can set up your own health goals to carry out all month long. There is no right or wrong goals. This is about your health and your body. Nobody know your body better then you do!

MY GOALS
– No sweet, desserts, sugary drinks or sugary snacks all month
– One day a week if I want junk food
– No drinking alcohol (not that I do very much anyways :P)
– 50 miles a week biking, walking, or kayaking
– Set meals every day, eating less
– No eating out at restaurants all month

I start this month at a high 274 lbs. Lets see how much I can lose in one month.

With Easter looming, I quickly bought up some candy and ate it all last night, But that is it until May! Why April, you may be wondering? The only answer I have for you is why not?

I hope that this month challenge will set me up to get back to eating healthier and eating less again. I hope that you may be able to come up with some health challenges for you. I look forward to the new month, the new challenges, and the new people I may cross paths with.

Please share your GOALS, CHALLENGES, and STORIES right here or on my Facebook page, and be sure to share my posts with your friends.

Everyone is Mr. Marc!

The main teacher is not in today so it is the aids and a substitute with our 7 students with autism. We get a phone call in the morning from one of our student’s mothers:

Me: Good Morning Mrs. (name removed)’s class this is Mr. Marc.

Mom: Hi this is (name removed) mom. I just wanted to let you know that we had some trouble this morning. He had a bit of a break down this morning because we didn’t have a frozen water bottle for him. Do you have a refrigerator/freezer in the room?

Me: Yes we have a small one. I will put it in there for him as soon as he gets here.

Mom: Thank you so much; what was your name again?

Me: Marc!

Mom: Oh ok so you’re his new teacher (aid)! His father he calls dad but every other adult male he meets, he calls Marc! Everywhere we go, everyone is Marc!

Me: I am pretty sure you just made my whole day!

The Conversation went on about what we have been helping him with, his work and eating habits.
There is a little boy running around Florida calling everyone Marc. I work with students with Autism from kindergarten to 2nd, some of them have other conditions, some of them can talk and some cannot. To hear that I have made such a big impression in such short time puts nothing but smiles on my face for the days to come. There are certainly good days and bad days, easy days and hard days, and progress can be slow. If you step back and see where the students had started to where they are now, that’s when you can fill your heart to know that you are making a positive change in their lives. His back story I cannot share with you but he has evolved quite a bit in our classroom.

I know everyone in Florida is now Mr. Marc, but there are plenty of other people that make this educational program successful. Being new I am very grateful to have made such a positive impact not only in my class room but around the whole school. I am fortunate enough to be able to take my students out of the class room and mix them with other student and I also work with the after-school program. All day with all the students in the school, I am tying shoes, helping them with art projects, helping them with homework, guiding them through games and exercises at physical education, fixing friendships, teaching them new words, growing their independence, playing tea parties, playing games with them that they just make up, and much more. Fortunately for you, all you will see is the rewarding parts of my job. My job is not easy there are many challenges, but If I can go home knowing I made just a little bit of a difference each day, it is enough to come back and do it again each day. It is enough to start each new day with a smile.

That is just what we need, start each day with a smile and make sure you love what you are doing. Working with elementary school kids has put an amazing spin on my life. There is much gratitude for all of you who have helped me on my journey but right now Mr. and Mrs. Maiden can take credit for helping me find this job.

I did not originally come down to Florida to work in a school at all. But one event lead to another and here I stand as an Elementary ESE Paraprofessional for students with Autism and the job has grown into so much more. Thank you very much Mr. and Mrs. Maiden for helping me fill Florida with so many Mr. Marc’s. 😉

Variety Friday (Fortune)

What if the fate of the world relied on your fortune cookie?

fortune-cookie-believe

Yes, yes, I know fortune cookies are just fun for most, but how many times have you gotten one that was right? I just got one on Wednesday that really nails it for me right now.

“Your spirit of adventure leads you down an exciting new path.”

This fortune could not be more right. My life is full of adventure, including adventures within! You better believe it is an exciting path. Everything in our life has value, every person we meet has value you. The first step in discovering the value of things or people you encounter in your life is to BELIEVE! If you don’t have belief that it will work or benefit you there is no chance it ever will. If you just believe, you are that much closer to an opportunity for something very exciting in your life. I can guarantee that people’s lives have been forever changed simply at the crack of a fortune cookie. Those messages are all pre-written but perhaps we are all meant to find that fortune that changes our life?

I’M NOT DONE YET!

Sometimes you have to give up everything to find the one thing you want the most. Only the strong can make that risk. Only the strong can let go of every comfort they know. Only the strong can venture away from a career they have mastered for something new. Only the strong can walk away from people that love you and the people you love. Only the strong can fail 100’s of times and still reach for what is right in their heart. We can do anything. You can do anything, you are strong. You just have to take that risk and get started. There are better things out there for your life, you have to be strong enough to go after them.

Slowly but surely I will find where I belong and search the planet to find those that share my same views as we unite. I will climb my mountain of failures and raise a flag that says “I’M NOT DONE YET” If I can breathe there is still hope for something better. If I have a heart beat I can still love, and my soul will guide me. All I have to do is listen, hope for the best in life and be grateful for anything hope brings me because this is my life! I decide my life.

The easiest most attractive path is not always the right one and before long you are too comfortable for change. Get uncomfortable and change your path. Change your life, take risks, and be strong. You are not done yet!
