The Can’t Sleep 5k

Tell me, what do you do when you cannot sleep? I bet you toss and turn in your bed, get up a dozen times to go to the bathroom and maybe go watch TV or have a snack. Maybe you do all of these things!

Last night I woke up at about 12:30. I could not go back to sleep. Many times, I am grateful for waking up at the random time that I do. Oddly enough, this is one of my most motivating times! When I opened my eyes, my first thoughts were on my future, with the start of recording myself. I decided to go for a walk and listen to music. I was going to think of possible songs to tie into my speeches at the beginnings and ends. I was going to walk once around my neighborhood which is just over a mile…..BUT….in the midst of my music search I was having some visions of my first book. If you know about me and visions, this for me is very exciting! A title and main purpose came to me. I am not going to reveal any of this information until it actually happens, sorry to leave you hanging. It is too important as one of my major goals to be chatting about it just yet.

Now stepping into my 3rd time around the neighborhood, completing my 5k, I was still going through music for my speeches and recordings. I came across a song which gave me an idea that will fit perfectly in the beginning as an intro when I move to video. I spent almost the entire last mile thinking about this.

What I would like to say from all this is: I bet that all of you have great ideas inside of you that come to you at certain times. But I also bet that those ideas just get lost and forgotten. You do not have to walk 3.1 miles or start a blog but I encourage all of you to write these Ideas down. If nothing ever comes of it fine, but for me I take action on most of my ideas. If you remember, I just got done talking about having too many ideas. The hard things is, they are all amazing and I want to do them all right away, but I simply write them down and go after them one at a time. I write notes in my phone, I write them in a sticky note on my computer, I write them on anything. I even have notes written on the tissue box in my car! Write your ideas down or they will be lost forever.

I have learned to love the times that I can’t sleep at night, It is were a lot of good Ideas come alive and I get exercise too! I love having my own blog and I love being able to just write and post whenever I want. Sure, I stick to posting ever Wednesday but sometime I just have things I cannot wait to share with you. Much Gratitude to all of my loyal follower.

Variety Friday! (NEW BLOG CHANGES)

All new Variety Friday!

I wrote about this once before but this has to be my most favorite quote so far on my journey of change: “Anything worth doing was worth doing poorly-until I can learn to do it well.” – Zig Ziglar.

Past Post

I try so hard to keep my post short and sweet but sometimes I still amaze myself how much I could say and still have to say about Ultra Positivism. This blog is a living organism of my life and I share bits and pieces of it indirectly all the time in my posts about positivism. There is no GPS on my life, but you better be certain I will continue to leave a trail for those to follow and teach me new things. I started this blog out of heart break and just look at where I have come from that moment. I was not a writer, there was a day I was anything but positive, there was a day were life was not worth living. UP to today I built a never give up attitude, and I am surrounding it with Ultra Positivism from around the globe. I have all of you to be grateful for that. I may have uninspiring posts sometimes, my grammar may flounder in my rushed attempts to post, I may miss a week of posting here and there, I may fall to my knees in tears, but IT IS ALL WORTH IT. I may not know where I am going or where I may end up but I know for a fact it all adds to my tale of life and slowly I will pick up inspired and inspiring people along the way. I don’t know when I will become a motivational speaker or what I will even say but if just one day I can stand in front of hundreds or more, deliver life’s message and change the lives of each one I will have learned to do it well.

I enjoy Famous Quote Friday but it is time for change. There is more out there, more then I have time to share. I don’t want to leave Fridays for just quotes. I will start to include video clips, music, pictures, other blogs, or Facebook pages that inspire me. I start today with a song.

This song I have had for years and only in the last couple days did I search for the meaning of the title. I have also lost count of how many times I have listened to this song and how many times it continues to inspire me.

“Shibumi” by Amethystium
Listen to it. Give your full attention to it and nothing else. While you listen think about your life. This song is to amazing for words to describe but I did find an Urban Dictionary definition to the word “Shibumi”

A term from the Edo period in Japan refering to places, persons, or things of effortless perfection. Anything that is Shibumi is noble and fulfilling in a manner that is not shaped exclusively by analytical thought. Simply put, a state of great refinement underlying commonplace appearances.

If I had to pick an important post this one is it. This is the one I want EVERYONE to share. For the sake of you, others and myself, help me find great things in life by helping me spread my message of Positivism everywhere. I cannot pay you I cannot force you but each and every one of you I owe a debt of gratitude for helping me share this blog and this journey with the world. I want to make a name for myself and with every post and every share I can come closer to my dream.

PLEASE SHARE this post with those that you know. Those that see my blog for the first time share it with those you know as well. There are great things to come with https://upwithmarc.com/ and I look forward to inspire many and be inspired in return by each and every one of you. You can never achieve a great goal in life on your own and If there was a way I can help you I will.

Famous Quote Friday Lady Gaga

“Celebrate all the things you don’t like about yourself – love yourself.”
Lady Gaga

I was not a big fan of Lady Gaga, her Image, or her music from the start. But now I respect all of them. Getting to know her a little more outside of the spotlight I realize she is just being herself. Her originality is eccentric and beautiful.

Her quote speaks to me so much. We all have things we do not like about ourselves. But do we ask ourselves why? We need to improve ourselves everyday. We need to embrace our faults and love ourselves for who we are. Lady Gaga could not have said it better. Celebrate who you are and love it.

Can you think of anything you don’t particularly like about yourself? Try to love that part of you and just let everything else fall into place.

Love yourself, love your weekend and love your life.

Don’t forget to share my post with your friends. It is easy with the links below! Thank you so much.

Bathtub Meditation

I know I usually post every other Wednesday, but I have so many great things to share with all of you these days. On my quest to love everything life has to offer I have tried many things. The best part about trying new things is it arises ideas and opportunities to do more new things.

I want to draw a quick bath(path!) to what I want to talk about today. I have been exploring different worship ceremonies. The one that is speaking most to me right now has more of a spiritual essences than religious. This spiritual venture has lead me to the ideas of meditation. I explored a few option of meditation and was unsuccessful at the time. I was recently introduced to Carol Kettley Rushton thru a mutual friend. She specializes in Reiki Healing and Spiritual Guidance. She gave me my first card reading ever. This was by far an amazing and enlightening experience. It for sure sparked a new friendship with another positive individual. I told Carol about my meditation attempts and she had suggested to combine the things I love into meditation.

Carol suggested what I will just coin as bathtub meditation. I love relaxing music and I love being in the water so it seemed like a very fitting suggestion. Now I want everyone to visualize the size of their bathtub…. Now picture a 6’2″ person fitting in there! HA! needless to say I fit myself in the tub!

I will tell you what I did, you are welcome to try this or come up with a variation of your own. I made myself a play list to go at least an hour with wordless relaxing music, you can make yours as long or as short as you wish. I played it thru head phones to cancel out any other noises. I ran a very hot bath with some scented bath balls. I turned the lights off so it was completely dark. I got myself in a good position in the tub and played my music. I shut my eye and I began to sweat and imagined that every bead of sweat was a release of thought until I was thoughtless and combining myself with the flow of the music. I just relaxed until the music stopped and IT WAS AMAZING!

This bathtub meditation was one of the most amazing personal positive experiences I have ever had. The music stopped and it actually took some time to come back to reality. I was so relaxed I could barely stand (literally)! Needless to say I slept well and the days to follow were very positive and relaxing as well. If you do try this please let me know how it works out for you.

I would like to show my gratefulness for the events and suggestions and pass on Carol’s information to you. She does so many great things and I definitely plan to go back and try this Reiki Healing with her next time.

If you could do me a great favor go and like her on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/CrystalRanchReikiHealing. Her and I would be very grateful.

Some of the things I have experienced through Carol’s guidance I never believed in before. However, my experience in trying it has brought something in clear focus for me. You will never benefit from something you don’t believe in. You can only benefit from what you do believe in! We should open ourselves up to try new things all our lives, you never know what kind of positive impacts you will encounter.

I hope all of you will check our Carol’s sites. Also, I challenge all of you to show a little faith in something you are skeptical about and see if any good comes from it.

Have a great day and thank you for following me.

Lindsey Stirling FQF

“The only reason I am successful is because I have stayed true to myself.”

Lindsey Stirling

Lindsey is a Dub-step Violinist. She grow up with a heavy classical background. With age she began to experiment with mixing different kinds of music, ultimately coining a new genera of music for many to continue to follow. She was a quarter finalist on America’s Got Talent. She did not win it all but she kept going. She stayed true to her self and is now living in a world she only once dreamed of, performing spectacular music.

Staying true to yourself can be hard, it does take some determination. There are so many things that tempt us in other directions other than our own. How many success stories have you heard that were derived of fake actions or fake directions? None! Some may come close but eventually fall. To succeed you must expect hard times, you must be prepared for failure and rejection. Be yourself in every aspect and you will go far. As you go to things you want they will start to come to you at the same time.

I have lost so many people but gained many more by staying true to myself. Being me seems to be so hard sometimes but I stay true to myself and my goals in life. I am weird or annoying or unintellectual in the eyes of many but in the eyes of many more I have built a level of trust that can never be broken. I have built a level of determination for what I want out of life, that does not go unseen. I have always had my heart open for all those who wish to treat it with respect. It was not till a little after high school that I realized who I really was….I was meant to spread positivism and acts of kindness, and spread I will. I wish, in my last breaths, that I still have some inspiration left in me to pass on to those that lean over in care. That is my success, making as many people in this world as possible smile and keep smiling.

I am Kind, I am caring, I am sensitive, I am weird, I am funny, I am forgiving, I am strong, I am me!

Have an amazing weekend everyone. Lindsey’s Music is amazing, I feel she is shaping a new era of listening pleasure. Check out the song I am addicted to right now.
