It’s hard to wait. It’s hard to try over and over again without any good result. It’s hard to fail and not feel a little worse each time. How much can you take before it’s time to give up?
Most of my close friends and family can a test to how close to edge of life I have got. They have seen me fall hard, again and again. They have seen me ready to give up, ready to say I am done. They have seen me scream, cry, and beg the universe for an answer. All of us will literally stumble upon hard times. In fact if you have never faced a challenge that has pushed you to your limits, you have so much more of your life to experience yet.
As the sweat from my forehead beads into the tears of my face, the monster has arrived. I have fought the good fight that my journey may be over. My next destination is thru the thick fog and I have no idea what is inside there, or what lies on the other side. I’m going in and you better believe I am coming out the other side as a better person! This I do know. Every challenge I face makes me stronger more willing to face the next.
You know what the people I care about have never seen? They have never seen me stay down when I fall. They have never seen me stop when there is just so much more road to follow. They have never seen me make a goal and not go after it with everything I have got. Those I keep close to my heart have never seen me give up.
Don’t give up on your dreams and you goals it is not worth it. No matter how long that journey is, keep going. No matter how many times you have to try and try again, keep at it. When you fall get up and never stop. When you have to wait and there is nothing else you can do, you wait. Your goal is close by, your destination is right around the corner, that treasure you have been looking for all your life you are about to run right into, but the only way to see any of it is to never give up. NEVER GIVE UP.
Anyone that says life is easy is a fool. Anyone who wants to experience their full potential is going to stumble through the gates of victory out of breath with scraped knees. Carrying the satisfaction of making it is what strengthens everyone for the next seemingly impossible journey. Everything is possible in life but it takes a person willing to never give to get there.
That is it right there! Life should be a great adventure. Life is what you make it. If you want to make it nothing go right ahead. I may not have a lot of money; frankly my life feels like it is going down whitewater rapids sometimes. If money is what mattered I would be sitting in a great job with graphic design and great people back in Illinois where almost everyone I know live. But that is not my life. Everything in life is not only an adventure it is a learning experience. Through heartbreak I discovered new passions, and I am still discovering more. I want to be a motivational speaker…THAT is my great adventure. Will I get there? Will I stick to it? Will it take me places I have never been? Will it make sense? I will fail, I will fall, I will cry, I will take steps toward the edge of my life, but there is one thing some people don’t know about me. Through times of weakness I ALWAYS DO MY BEST and I NEVER GIVE UP!!!! Everything happens for a reason. I moved down here to Florida at a chance to take a job as a Zip-line tour guide and it turned into something much greater and completely different. Now I am a ESE Paraprofessional working with children with autism. My job goes beyond that title with all the kids I interact with at the school. In an adventurous life you always have to be ready for it to change. Just so you know I love whitewater rafting and oddly enough when I balance myself back up I realize how much I enjoy the challenges.
I sit here, on the patio of life’s next great adventure, knowing I have choices in my very own choose your own adventure lifestyle, and it makes me feel pretty awesome. No one can stop me, all anyone can do is help and support me. What is next for me? Where will I end up? What holes will I fall in and what trips to the sky will I elevate to next? I know one thing; MY LIFE IS FAR FROM NOTHING. I hope every one of yours is too. Take a look at the menu, are you hungry for life? What kind of adventure will you order next?
Every adventure I take, every challenge I face, every friendship I make or every heartbreak, everything that irritates me or makes me smile, every thought of mine that I write down and everyday I wake up is one day closer to were I am going. Those who doubt what I can do have no part in my life and those who support me at the bottom have permanent places in my heart, but I am grateful for all of you and everyone in between. I know where I am headed I know what challenges I face but nothing is gonna stop me from making a difference in my life and the lives of those I know, everyday! Motivational Speaking is in my future and every single day I will earn my way in to the world were i will continue to inspire every one I can. I love all of you.
What are you doing today? What will you see today? what will you say today? Every single day of our lives is brand new. We can choose to waste it with a bad attitude and dramatic negative news from around the world or we can grab everything good from the day and make it epic. When you don’t feel amazing each day that is up to you. We all fall under unfortunate circumstances but going into those issues with the right attitude is what can make your crumby day epic. Choose to inspire yourself and others everyday. Choose to reach for that goal until you achieve it. Search from within. Go after the impossible. Someone said it could not be done, where is the harm to continue to try it? Your life is not over until you take your last breath and until that day if you don’t set out to make every breath of your life epic, you are missing out on life. Turn what may not be into what will be.
I strongly encourage you to take the time to watch this video of Diana Nyad.
The very title of this video is another quote in itself, “Never, ever give up.”*Diana shows so much gratitude with her accomplishment. Some of her last words in the video were “I didn’t do it, we did it.”* It was a team of people that accomplished this amazing swim not just her alone. When we work together we can accomplish great things, any of us can, “Find a way.”* In just 15 minutes Diana has inspired me so much more then an other video I have seen.
Have an epic day. Follow my blog and like my Facebook for an even more positive world.
No matter what your past is, drop it. Yes hold on to the good memories for sure, I am talking about dropping your troubles, your failures and your negative attitude. Think about right now! Where is your life headed today?
Stand tall among the challenges. Eliminate surprise by expecting to fail, but from failure expect success. Learn all you can from your mistakes. Work to your wits end for success. Place no blame on others, you control your future. Ask questions until you are left with pure knowledge. Try again, push forward and break thru. Strike a fire of determination upon your goals.
Get what you want out of life by determination. Don’t sit back and wait for life to happen, begin to create yours now. It is not a matter of what you deserve it is a matter of what you have earned in your life. Don’t put all your pride in an open hand. Pry open the fist of challenge and take leaps never attempted, only then can you feel the adrenaline of pure determination.
NEVER GIVE UP. Never give up on your dreams. Do everything you can to make them come true. It is in your level of determination that you will get out of life what you deserve.
You choose your path, and attitude in life. If you sit on the couch watching reality shows all day it is safe to say your life is going nowhere. You accept the minimum with very little effort; your life is going nowhere. You blame others for the negatives you encounter; your life is going nowhere. Get up and try or learn something new every day. Reach for the maximum potential in your life; push your boundaries of success. Take responsibility for your actions and what you are reaching in life.
Stop talking about how you want your life to be and what you deserve and start taking action and be grateful for want you have earned in life. Go out there and get what you want out of life NOW!
I am challenged to find everyone to LIKE my new Facebook page and determined to get you to share it with your friends.
All around the world people will be celebrating the New Year. Happy New Year to everyone. We all should have New Year resolutions. Everyone should have achievable resolutions. I write to you on the first day of the New Year about mine and may you find inspiration through these words.
My life has been shifting. The feelings of positivism grow stronger within me every day. I used to think my life was hard, I used to blame my past for my present. I was wrong. Today I realize, I will fail, I will fall, I will make mistakes, I will get lazy, I will lose important people, I will get lonely, I will be challenged, But I WILL NEVER GIVE UP! I will succeed, I will rise when I fall, I will learn from my mistakes, I will take needed rest, I will meet new people, I shall cherish those in my company and I will encourage the hardest challenges to get exactly where my life is meant to be.
I Have 3 main objectives in my life right now and a list to achieving each one; find a cruise ship job, fulfill milestones with my blog and efforts toward motivational speaking. There will be a day when all of these fall together with great purpose, but for now I must choose one. The world around me is coming together and showing me how close I am to getting a shipboard cruise ship job, and this I will do. This I will not give up on. My fingers are ready to turn the page on this new chapter of my life. I am setting aside many things in my life for this but through participation of this venture I shall receive so much more in return.
My New Year’s resolution is to get a shipboard cruise ship job as soon as possible. One of many goals! I look back upon this year only with smiles. I have met so many good people, I have done so many new things and I have accomplished so much with myself. I am a very goal oriented person and over Christmas I decided to share this notion with my family. I created chalk boards that simply say “This I Will do,” with simple instructions to chalk on them with short term goals. You can easily make these for yourself out of dry erase boards or just a piece of paper if you don’t want to do a chalk board. Put it in a place where you will look at it every day and when you achieve the goal write a new one. Just this simple thing will add so much success in your life. I have 4 boards of my own of different varieties, but I will show you the ones I created for my family.
I rest and work in the shadows of my sanctuary. I can write words of failure, and thrive to wake again. My confidence lies waiting in the dark. The sun shall rise over me and grant me everything I never gave up of myself. I am original, I will remain original. I fear not, the blunders of my mistakes. I stand taller than the stars over all my challenges. I will lie upon the highest peaks and failure will be my foot holes to the top.
I leave you with a song from my favorite band that I have recently been inspired by.
“Anything worth doing was worth doing poorly – until I could learn to do it well.”
Zig Ziglar
Such great words from one of the greatest motivational speakers ever. I think I said this before but I will say it again; Zig Ziglar, up until the day he passed away was reading 3 hours a day. That is impressive but that is also how he was able to impress all of us!
There are many things we want to try in life. For some of us there are many things we try and don’t do very well. There are many of us who will give up and move on. Been there done that, tried it now it time to move on to something new. How many of you have done really poorly with something you truly love doing? Maybe you are terrible at golf but you absolutely love the game. Maybe you just graduated college and you are having trouble in your first career job. You are doing poorly but you have that drive to not give up! Don’t give up, stick it out and try again and again. Try it as many times as you need to until you learn to do it well.
I used to be terrible at grammar; you may be treated to some of those errors in my post today. 🙂 I keep writing though. The more I write the better I get. I don’t have to be full of myself to see through time and over 100 posts later that my writing is improving. I am enjoying writing and more and more people seem to enjoy it as well. With this blog experience I just jumped right in. I know more people are going to respect and get more out of my writing with perfect grammar, but until I reach a point of perfection this will have to do. You know that perfection can never be achieved right? The great thing to be motivated by this is, there is always something to improve on, something you can do better. “Practice makes perfect”, just as we have heard all our lives and perfection is what you make of it. Perfection is not a stopping point, it is a milestone for what it coming up next.
Think about it, what are you doing in your life right now that needs improvement? Are you willing to keep doing it until you see improvements? Are you willing to keep doing it if you do not see improvements right away? This is one of my new all time favorite quotes and I hope it is something you can use in your life as well.
Have a great weekend. Thanks for your support and following. Be sure to give your friends a chance to see this too, please share my blog with them.
This weekend I am going rock climbing with the Boy Scouts. I am not very graceful or skilled with it yet but I am going to do it again and again anyways. I do have plenty of motivation, I love Boy Scouts, I love my troop, and I was never known to quit. A lot of the boys look up to me and I need to set an example for them to not give up on things they love in their lives.
“Before you act, listen. Before you react, think. Before you spend, earn. Before you criticize, wait. Before you pray, forgive. Before you quit, try.”
-Ernest Hemingway
Born and raised in Oak Park, Illinois, Ernest Hemingway was a very influential American author and journalist. This quote seems to be the longer version of a phrase that most of us probably grew up with, “think before you act.” Before you take action on someone or something you need to listen to what is going on. In response before you react you need to think about what you are going to do or say and how it is going to effect your future. I think a lot of us spend before we earn. That is what we call credit cards. I dream of the day where I rid myself of credit card debt. Before you criticize someone wait and try to realize where they are coming from. You don’t know their background story so you really have no reason to criticize people without waiting for all the facts. Before you pray, forgive. I may not be the go to guy for this one but to me it means before for you pray to who you worship for forgiveness you need to forgive those you have directly wronged. Lastly my favorite, before you quit anything in your life you need to try everything!
Have a great week everyone. For those of you in the United States fall is upon us, what a beautiful time! For those around the world I would love to hear what kind of weather graces you now!
***I discovered today there is debate about this quote, if it was Ernest’s or someone else. I won’t get into that here though because no matter who said it, it still has great meaning.***
“Never throughout history has a man who lived a life of ease left a name worth remembering.”
Theodore Roosevelt
This quote is super valuable. Life is not easy no matter what way you look at it. It is your drive to tackle challenges that is really important. You should be pushing yourself to learn something new every day, be it about yourself, your hobbies, your work, your future, anything. I can only dream to be remembered like Ted Roosevelt, but it is a dream….a challenge I am reaching for.
