How is that for a New Year resolution? Put more meaning in your life for 2015. What a great statement! I have created so much more of a meaningful life in 2014 but I already know that 2015 is going to be even better! I will be grateful for every new adventure that comes my way as my Ultra Positivism grows even stronger every single day.
I am on a quest to love everything in life but more importantly I am growing purpose in my life! It is a journey with many challenges but also endless roads of reward. Finding your way means stepping away from something good for something better. Finding your purpose in life provides no guaranteed results. You will meet people who don’t understand, you will crash into people who oppose you, but in time you will meet those that share the same views in everything you believe in. FIND THOSE PEOPLE.
What are you meant to do? What are you meant to be? I know who I am, who I want to be, and where my future is headed and I can thank 2014 for that as well as show gratitude for all those who have been a part of it! Reaching for what I am meant for in this life every day gets easier all the time! Each person I meet, each challenge I face, each thought that comes to writing, each goal I meet, each step forward, and each breath I take gives me the positive energy to find my purpose. I AM UNSTOPPABLE!
You are in charge of putting meaning into your life you can either sit around in your routine or you can get your butt up and make some memories on the journey of purpose in your life.
I am sure some of you have noticed I have not posted in about a week. I am stepping into a new part of my life and I have been making sure everything is in order for the changes. The first part of this blog will just be info. If you care to read on, the second part is some random stories.
For over a year now (as I was reminded) I wanted to work on a cruise ship. With my determination and the efforts of many I have come to the starting point of a dream come true, Saturday March 22nd. I have been assigned to Royal Caribbean’s cruise ship, Jewel of the Seas. This ship tours the Southern Caribbean right now out of Puerto Rico. I will Be flying to Puerto Rico Friday March 21st. I will have limited access to the internet and almost non to my phone. If you wish to keep in touch with me PLEASE email me anytime and be patient with a response. I will have a mailing address to which I will share with you when I can.
This new venture will affect this blog. Regular postings at this time will be put on pause. With limited access to the internet, working, exploring new places and meeting new people, it will be tough to post. I will not fully disappear I will write and post when I can. This blog is all about positivism but it may turn into a travel blog, which certainly can be a very positive experience in itself.
I went to a movie for the first time by myself. The theater was empty, the movie was good and the experience was not bad at all. I waited so long to build up the courage to go to a movie by myself and hear I stand an Eagle Scout, a designer, a writer, a baker. Working a cruise ship is going to change my life and I step into that adventure now. It is weird how much I have a accomplished and how much I value my independence, and here I sit in an empty theater nervous.
We carry many emotions, ones we love and ones we don’t. This path to ship board employment has been a roller coaster of all of them. I was very excited the closer I got in my search. The closer I got even more I wave of seriousness came across me. This is going to be a lot of hard work and completely new. I should be running around ridiculously excited, but all I can think about is being prepared to succeed in all that will happen. At one point I even let the looming feelings of frustration get the best of me and was corrected by a very understanding recruiter.
I was watching a preseason Chicago Fire Soccer video and that is when I realized more emotions. I stopped that video about half way through I could not watch it any longer. As a 6 year season ticket holder the new things coming to the 2014 season were exciting and breaking my heart. The genuine “I will miss you” from those most important to me is breaking my heart. Stepping away from Scouting is breaking my heart. You cannot see it though as the excitement of what is to come of my new life is upon me. My life right at this very moment symbolizes my whole life among all the joy there are challenges, among all the challenges there is joy. I have a balanced wealth of emotion. I tear up as I write this but I know when I reread it I will be proud.
There is a new Marc transforming. This is one of the biggest things I have ever tried and I am confident that it will provide much success for my future. I know I have said this in the past, and I know those that follow me regularly know this; My blog has been a reflection of current events a reflection of my life and my transformation into positivism. I am not a naturally positive person but I am becoming one. I have many challenges and some of them are reflected positively in this blog. Sometimes you have to embrace the good side of things to understand and accept the bad things. I am reminded of a quote I posted a while back:
“Anything worth doing is worth doing poorly–until you can learn to do it well.”
– Zig Ziglar
This positive lifestyle is worth doing, This new cruise ship job is worth doing, and I will be awesome at both! Sharing with you this positivism and all the new things I discover in life, IS WORTH DOING!
Stay in touch PLEASE!
I know my last post was about challenges and I have certainly had my fair share of challenges in life and right now. I read an article in Success Magazine called “Finding Joy in the Challenges” This article was all about finding fulfillment in Marketing, not necessarily as a profession just as an important entity in any business. As you may know I am in Marketing, but I want to share with you what I took from this article outside of the world of Marketing. We face so many challenges in our life, some we have no choice in the matter, others we do. The ones I speak of today are those challenges where we are given the choice.
My whole life seems to be stacked with challenges. At first I would let them get to me. But that was strange because I had a never give up attitude from the day I was born. Sure I can do this…I WILL do this. In the past year alone I have overcome so much, so much has changed, so many good challenging things are happening in my life RIGHT NOW! I don’t think I will ever stop talking about it. I mean I was ready to settle down, ready to say this is the Marc that you will see for the rest of your life. Did not even comprehend that I can turn my whole life around again. I say again because at the age of 32 I can think of 4 other times that have turned my life around. This life change I am in the middle of right now is awesome. Fortunately I am writing and blogging and quoting my thoughts as I go now. I have a new light, a new heightened sense of positivism, determination, love and gratitude in my life right now. With all this good in my life still comes those challenges. The word challenge is something I have gotten used to, something that will never go away. But I stand before all with a newer definition to “Challenge Accepted”. Don’t just find the positives in the challenges, find that spark inside you that tells you that you are doing what you love. Find the joy in your challenges. How is that joy going to grow into the next challenge you face. You cannot just put a smile on your face and say “challenge accepted” you need to put a smile on your heart you need to place that challenge on the joys of your future.
If your life is plain and boring you are not challenging yourself. Everyone has a list, be it written or in your head of what you want to do with your life. But a lot of people play the card that it is too hard, or they are just too lazy to do it. I know we are not all wired the same, but all of us should be able to find satisfaction on the road of challenges to the things we love.
I want to list a few questions from the article that I read that you should try to answer. I changed them a little to pertain to ourselves because this was an article about marketing but I think we can apply these questions to our lives too.
-What do you stand for?
-How do you add value to your life?
-What is your style?
-What makes you awesome?
-How will you stand out?
-How will you change this world?
When you answer these questions ignore the simple answers on the surface and dig deep into the drive within you to find the truest answer. Challenges enlist a certain level of creativity in your lives too. There is no one answer to any challenge. All of us were born with the ability to be creative in our own personal ways. Your creativity can show in the answers to these questions above for sure and it shows in your ever day lives too.
Our lives are not meant to be easy. The only way they are easy is if we are not pursuing what we truly want from life. Not only should you accept the challenges; you should find the joy in every step of the way through them as well.
As positive as many of us may be, there will always be problems or challenges in our lives. There will always be new things in our lives. Things will always be changing. The key is to stay on the positive side of the changes.
When faced with a Challenge how do you react to it? You want to take that challenge head on. You want to solve it, master it, move past it as quick as possible. Most importantly you want to look for those positives in that challenge. What are you learning from it? How is it going to strengthen your life style. If you let any challenges effect you negatively they will! So find those positives right away.
Don’t try to solve every problems yourself. There are lots of friends family and others ready and willing to help you, don’t be afraid to ask for help. Like I said there will always be challenges and you may end up talking to someone that can not only help you but has been thru the same things. Don’t let yourself feel alone in your challenges, that is the worst place for any negative thought. Don’t hold on to your challenges either because the only thing they will keep doing is bring you down. Do whatever it takes to bring youtself back up to bring you back in the game, to bring you back into your amazing life.
Short and simple, you face a challenge, you say “CHALLENGE ACCEPTED”
