Super Dad

This is a pretty long story but I think if you have kids I hope you can make the time to listen to the whole thing.

Eager To Fail

Good morning fellow supporters of Ultra Positivism. I am super excited about this new post. I recorded this segment with out reading anything, without an outline and without editing the content. I did pretty well for my first time and I look forward to more sparks of passion to be able to have more of these in the future.

Much gratitude for following and listening. Have an amazing day.

PASSION

What are your passions? What do you desire most in life? Have you experienced them? Are you working towards them? How many passions do you have?

Passion is important in your life. We are not robots that just eat sleep and work. Some of you may feel like robots some days but there are things you are interested in beyond the normal routine of your day. Your passions could be as simple as a good book or homemade cheese cake, but also as lavish as moving to France or reaching the top of Mount Everest. Passion is not just a thing it’s a journey, the path to things you love in life. Without passion along the way I would never be where I am today.

People who have and show a lot of passion are the ones that are flourishing in happiness. Passionate people are the ones that can be positive through the toughest of challenges. Most of all Passionate people carry a love inside of them, unique to them, that they share with everyone.

Fill your life with passion, Fill your path with love and be grateful for the journey.

UPwithMarch I will be expressing 31 days of Gratitude. I will be posting one thing I am grateful for everyday on my Facebook Page. Be sure and check it out each day and I encourage you to follow my page, share it with your friends and write what you are grateful for in the comments below each day. You don’t have to comment everyday but pick a day or days you wish to contribute by telling the world what you are grateful for. My blog posting will continue as normal but each post will also be about Gratitude.

I would be most grateful for your contributions. It only takes a few seconds to write but the feeling you give yourself from sharing will last much longer!

Are You For Real?

I am a real person with real goals and real failures and real success and real feelings. I am not trying to hide anything, but I will change everything I do not like in my life!

You owe it to yourself to be real! Sure in high school maybe it was fun to try to be real cool, but you know darn well that’s not the real you. What are your passions? What are your feelings? What are your dreams? Are you living your life or some other life?

Stop spending time trying to be someone you’re not because you will NEVER get anywhere you want to in life. Being real is about being yourself. No matter what people say and no matter what people think, your own personal approval of yourself is what matters. You will hit hard times but its your own character that is going to conquer those challenges! You got to live your life from your eyes not from all the eyes looking at you.

I have always considered myself to be original. I truly am on a quest to love all life has to offer and that includes bits and pieces from all over the world, all things, and all ideas. I want to accept everything into my life and use my favorite parts to shape my future and all of you would be wise to do the same. It is one step toward a more positive world one person at a time!

Love your life and love each new year of it. HAPPY NEW YEARS!

Alan Watts Famous Quote Friday

“Better to have a short life that is full of what you like doing, than a long life spent in a miserable way.”

Alan Watts

Alan Watts was a philosopher, writer and speaker. British born but moved to the United State in his teen years. Better known for his Eastern Philosophy, but he studied many religions and his main interests in life were personal identity and a higher consciousness.

His words are what everyone wants, a life full of things you like. This can easily be achieved with the right mind set and motivation. Sure miserable things will happen in our life but let us not focus on those things. We as humans spend a lot of time focused on the negatives in our life, the things we don’t want, when really we should be more focused on the positive things. Give more of your attention to the things you love, the things you want to do. Don’t give so much attention to the difficulties of your path to the things you want but more so feed your mind with the ideas that you are on your way. Tell your mind that you are already there. All Alan is simply saying is do what you want with your life and if you don’t like it change it now. This is your life and this is your chance to live it, so if you are miserable change it now. Fill your life with things you want in it not things you don’t.

Have a great weekend everyone.

If Money Did Not Matter

Today’s post is a journey. I hope that you all have the time to take this short journey. It will inspire you, give yourself the time to read on. Now I know some of my posts can be a bit lengthy but the way I see it if you make time to read you make time to succeed! Now who doesn’t want success? If you complete this small journey today I only ask one thing. Tell me one major thing you are working on or working toward in your life. A question to be refined at the end.

When you were a kid growing up, what did you want to be? Be an astronaut, a chef, or even the president. What did you want to do with your life? Scale the tallest mountain, meet someone famous, or even travel the world. How many of your dreams have been fulfilled? One of the main things holding us back from what we desire most is money.

let me introduce you to Alan Watts a philosopher, writer, and speaker(play video below)

What if money did not matter? Your options are limitless, you can be whatever you want to be and do whatever you want to do. Our own human nature and society has groomed us into the idea of earning a living to just simply earn a living. Very few of us go on earning a living doing what we love. Most of us continue doing what we are doing just to continue doing what we are doing. No that is not a typo think about it! Are you in a job just for the money? Do you wish you could be doing something different? Stop wishing and make it happen. This is your life.

This whole concept has been a huge part of big changes in my life and only now has it come into the light for me. I have been a professional graphic designer for over 10 years and all of the sudden I lost my passion for it. I was always looking for that better job with better pay. Aside from design my ultimate goal has always been to become a motivational speaker. I never saw money in it so it got kind of lost inside me. The struggles of life have surfaced it and brought back a beautiful dream. My life path is changing to so many wonderful things I can hardly keep up. People keep asking what my main view point will be as a motivator. I have Ideas of course but I still don’t have a solid answer.I do however have a monetarily free field of vision to take me there to find out.

None of us seem to give ourselves enough credit and that is were our dreams fall short. You have to believe in yourself and you have to believe in the path that takes you to the things you dream about. I refer you to another video of a song I posted awhile ago. I will be standing in the hall of fame and even if it is one person at a time everyone will know my name.

here is the song and post https://upwithmarc.com/?s=hall+of+fame

I can go on for hours about all the new thoughts and things in my life but everything I say and what Alan Watts says in his video is basically FOLLOW YOUR DREAMS! If you put money first in your life you are never going to achieve your goals past looking for more money. You can be who you want to be if you believe in it enough, if you are determined enough. Your life will evolve around your passions. Love your life and do what you want with it.

NOW IT IS YOUR TURN! Post a comment of one thing (or several) you would like to do if money did not matter.

The inspiration for this post was started from Upworthy where I found the video by Alan Watts. What a truly amazing site.

I have also added share buttons on the bottom of my posts. If you like what you read, please share this with your friends.

THANK YOU SO MUCH EVERYONE I am grateful for your following and support. Enjoy the rest of your week.

Famous Quote Friday

“No, silly. I’m being brave. All you got to do is be scarier than whatever’s scaring you.”
Thumper (Bambi)

Be brave. There are a lot of things in life that we second guess doing. All you need is that extra bit of confidence to step past the threshold of your challenges. When you find yourself scared to do something, or say something to someone, or be around something, just think about why. Why are you scared, what is holding you back? I encourage you to listen to those positive voices in your head, try everything, and take risks. Stand tall and scarier then everything that scares you. Listen to your heart, it is never telling you what you are scared of, it is giving you the passion to go after what is meant to be.

This post is in memory of my buddy Zeal. He was a Rex mix rabbit formally named Thumper. I only had him for a short time but the poor guy passed on a few days ago because he had an enlarged heart and it just gave out on him. It is a sad notion for someone or something to pass on because their heart was too big. Zeal is taking a trip to the carrot fields above, a world where a physically bigger heart is excepted.

Find Your Happy Place

I always have things lined up that I want to write about and then days or even the day before my Wednesday post I have another idea! We all have lists of cool things we want to buy or do, right? We wait and wait and put it off and maybe never get to it. In my path of many risks and changes I have decided that I need to stop talking about these things and buy or do them. Plus sometimes you just need to treat yourself.

In any case I have already bought and done  a number of things just in the past years time alone. This past Friday I bought myself a kayak. I always wanted my own! I came across some money and decided to take Nike’s advise and “Just Do It”. I bought The car mounting straps, the life vest, the paddle and the kayak all in one shot on Friday. I was going to take it out up by the Chain of Lakes area in the northern part of Illinois on Sunday but I could not stand it I had to put her in the water. Saturday afternoon that is exactly what I did! I went on the Fox River which is very close to where I live.

I got everything set up and scooted off the loading area and into the water. I paddled out into the middle of the water and that is when it hit me………It is so peaceful out here, It is so quiet, I feel really good out by myself in the middle of the river in my new kayak!(I still feel like I should name her) I just started paddling up stream and was thinking about the whole “Happy Place” concept. I think I found it! I Have found my “Happy Place”. I felt very centered out on the river in my kayak. Did not have to do anything did not have to be anywhere did not have to answer to anyone. Needless to say I went to the Chain of Lakes area the next day, scratched her up got her dirty and broke her in! Now, I have been in kayaks before in the open ocean, on rivers, in the rapids but there is a different value to getting in one of your own, it is total peace.

I urge all of you to try everything in life and find your happy places. If you find something you really like doing there really is no reason at all to stop doing it….EVER! This is just one of many places where I am most happy! I am not going to  name all of my happy places but I want to name probably the top 3, but not in any order: Kayaking, Sitting at the top of the mountains, and Chicago Fire soccer games. I know this is more of a personal story than ideas of positivism in my post this week. I think that with all of these Ideas of positivism and practicing what I preach that my life has taken on many positive adventures which I think carry as much value as the ideas of positivism themselves. We all have a choice to be positive or negative, always choose positive and see how your life evolves for the better.

Soon to come, as requested by a wonderful follower of my blog, a “You Want Me” video! you-want-me-explained

Have a great week and weekend everyone. I know what Ill be doing this weekend! 😛

Passionate Inspirations

A few weeks ago I went on a High Adventure trip with my Venture Scouts. We went down to West Virginia near and on the New River Gorge. This was a trip I have been on many times, we do several adrenaline activities like mountain climbing, mountain biking, zip lining, and whitewater rafting. Each activity is just as risky and exciting as the others. This was the first time I had been here sense the gates of pure positivism have opened up in my life. I discovered that the guides that bring us on these tremendous events are full of instruction, full of funny jokes, and full of stories about past thrill seekers and their life’s path. Listening to them talk about their life was very inspiring, I was really tuned into the passion they felt about the job they are doing. These men and women are living the dream.

Our climbing guide was talking about how much of an avid kayaker she was but was ready to tackle a new adventure as a climbing guide. Every day she works on the glorious cliff sides just to make it to the end of her day so she can pop her kayak in the water and take it down the New River. Further into her life story you could really feel how passionate she was about the adventurous outdoors. When summer falls short and winter begins she heads up to Colorado working the ski slopes in the mountains. She works there only for the opportunities to go snowboarding. When summer comes back here she comes back to West Virginia. There is no money in this venture it is just pure passion. She knows darn well that this kind of life style won’t last forever. When questioned about her future in adventure seeking she simply said “I want to get as much kayaking and boarding time as I can before I physically can’t anymore.”

To really feel the passion behind these guides you have to be there, you have to hear them. My explanations do no justice to the positive emotions resonating from their lips. This is what brings me to talk about passions and inspirations. We all have passions and we owe it to ourselves to discover those passions and share then with others. We all have people we look up to, people that inspire us. Those passionate about what they speak will have great attention from their audiences.  I guess what I am saying hear is seek out those that are passionate about the things they love doing. When you can feel that positive energy spilling off of them I encourage you to listen more. I encourage you to ask questions. The emotions of passion and inspiration are so intoxicating within our own lives, but merely to listen to others will just blows your mind away. When you read a good book, your are reading the written words of a passionate writer. When you see a movie that really touches you, there is a whole cast and crew of those that are passionate about what they do. When you meet a surfer and all he can talk about is waves, there is a great level of passion. When you listen to a motivational speaker, they inspire you. They don’t inspire you just because they know what to say they inspire you because they have a passion for helping others.

I am not an ace writer, I am not a fast reader, I still have nerves when speaking in front of a crowd, but nothing is going to stop me from getting better at everything I want to do, every single day. I have been criticized for my grammar all my life. I have been looked down on for my reading abilities. The times has come for me to stop saying I am a slow learner, to ignore the harsh nonconstructive criticism. If I can stand on the edge of a mountainside cliff and look down with a fear of heights, I can read, and write, and speak better than ever before. This blog and all my quotes are just the warm up. I have big ideas to share with people, and when I am scared, when I fall helpless I will climb back up time and again to step on that cliff and look down on all that I have accomplished. I am  grateful to all those who have been and will be supporting my journey. When I reach the top of one mountain it is just time to travel to another. I want to live my dream, and I am going to!

Seriously people. Find your passions, and do whatever it takes to reach them. Find those who inspire you and just listen. Love your life and live your dreams.

“You can find inspiration by just listening to those who are passionate about what they do.”
