Variety Friday (Fireflies)


I heard this song sung last night at my elementary school’s performance. Last night a memory was made

As a single male in my 30’s with no kids, society has made me very cautious to work with young children. But here I am anyways. I love kids of all ages. I made 6 new friends the first day I walked into the classroom. As the days pass it began happening, several students throughout the school begin to say hi to me looking for high fives and hugs. With my job taking me all over the school I cannot step too far out of my classroom without hearing “Hi Mr. Marc” from those little inspiring voices. It would be a big fat lie if I said I did not enjoy the attention. The most unique thing is I am not trying to win these kids over I am just being who I am.

These kids are my lightening bugs! They are lighting up my world. I get a thousand hugs and they certainly do teach me how to dance. I am slowing down planet Earth to notice more with these kids that may otherwise go unseen. I wonder if this is where my motivational mark is for speaking? To kids?

Variety Friday (Michelangelo)

Aim high! You aim low you already know you are going to make it, but you won’t ever discover your true potential. Don’t just make your life simple, make it challenging and more interesting. Make goals in life that seem impossible. When you get closer to achieving your goals you realize how possible it really is. Aim high on your goals. Give yourself the benefit of the doubt that you can do it. If you can set your mind to victory you can achieve anything.

I always have goals in my life and when I achieve one I make another one. I had no idea I would be were I am in life right now, but I made goals, set my mind to it and in only a few years times I have a book worth of adventures about where life has taken me. It is time for me to reach higher. It is always time to reach higher and that is what I am doing everyday.

Make or Mistake (Variety Friday)

When we try new things, when we challenge ourselves to the limits, we make mistakes. If you go through life so worried about making a mistake you are only short changing your own potential. Let yourself do the things that are hard. Let yourself make the mistakes and fail. Instead of feeling bad about your mistakes learn from them, become stronger from them.

With our health we all make mistakes, we all skip a work out, or eat the wrong thing. We all get injured or fail to meet our health goals on time. That does not meam to give up and stop, it means to get up, get better push and try harder. I have certainly made a few mistakes in my goals for this month but I bring myself right back on track for success and continue to see results!

Try (Variety Friday)

This April Health month started with the idea to try a new challenge. A challenge to eat better, be more active and loss weight. 2 weeks in I can proudly say I am accomplishing these challenges. My move down here started with the idea to start a new career with something completely different. I accomplished that, by now working in an elementary school! I wanted to try and find work over the summer and boy did I ever accomplish that! I will be working on a cruise ship again but this time up in Alaska for the summer. If I never would have tried working on a cruise ship in the first place, I would have never accomplished working on the cruise ship a 2nd time. Its a once in a life time opportunity for me and now I get to do it again!

Great things can happen in your life all you have to do is TRY and you can ACCOMPLISH anything. Have a great weekend everyone.

Variety Friday (Focus)

This is absolutely right. You focus on losing weight, you will but you will also gain it all back. You focus on changing your life style and being healthy that weight comes off and stays off and you get in even better shape in the process. There are no quick fixes in this world that last, you have to be dedicated to the process to see results.

Here is a nice little positivism spin for you: Don’t focus on not being negative just focus on being positive. It is a formula that works in everything. The more positive you are the better you will feel and the more confident you become that there is more positive things in your future. When you build that positivism routine more positive things start to happen to you!

You have heard me time and again say I am on a quest to love everything in life. Excepting everything is the same thing. There is good in every bad situation but you have to be willing to look if you are to be able to see it. We all have problems in our life and its those problems that lead paths of gratitude to were you want to be in life. Be grateful for the good things, be grateful for the problems and be grateful for the journey.

I am always searching the internet for positive and creative things. I found this a little while ago. It caught my eye because of the circle diagram. We all remember those right? This diagram and quote speaks to me because I believe that making a difference is more important then making a living but you do have to make a living and work in this world. It shows that you can make a difference in this world and make a living and somewhere in the middle of all that is when you find your true self. Are you making a difference, are you making a living, or are you transforming who you are to do both?
